  • New York Vinnie · cocoa2 - many will never forget Landaluce. Me included. She was a sweet, black coated two year old filly out of Seattle Slew that captivated the west, having won five races by almost 50 lengths. She won her first race in 1:08 then came back a week later and won a Grade 1 race by 21 lengths in 1:08:1. Her last three races as a two year included race run in 1:21, 1:35 and 1:41. Uncle Mo, on the other hand, ran a 1:34.6 and and 1:42 in a mile and a mile and a sixteenth, and was considered the second coming of Spectacular Bid and Seattle Slew. Landaluce will never be forgotten. · 114 days ago ·

  • BigAConfidential · Brian, I haven't had a chance to stop by and commend you on the work you've done this season. Great stuff. I too am looking forward to the Susan. Despite her flop at Tampa, I cannot seem to shake the brilliance of Royal Delta's maiden score at Belmont. Like her chances on Friday. · 377 days ago ·

Twilight Tear-An American Hall of Fame filly. Her dominating performances in 1944 against both colts and fillies earned her the Horse of the Year award. I have just completed her past performance history with an amazing record of 24-18-2-2. As phenomenal as she was I'm having a hard time finding video from that era. If anyone has video of her, please add them in.
  • MissWoodford · People marvel over Zenyatta's 'Unrivaled' streak when this brilliant mare won 14 straight races in one year. And that wasn't even all of her races that year. Horses those days, its not that they weren't good enough to have a streak like that, it's because they raced many many many times a year. And then horses like Zen come along and only have 5 soft races a year, with 60 day intervals. Twilight Tear was as good as they come. · 395 days ago ·

Amidst all the hoopla surrounding Zenyatta’s retirement and the speculation regarding the identity of her first mate, last year’s Horse of the Year has been all but forgotten. Yet Rachel Alexandra also occupied a unique place in racing history, and her broodmare career should be of some interest.Fou...Read More
