What the Nation is saying about Tuscan Evening...

Farwell to thee … A.P. Jet (21) Japanese stakes winner was a solid sire in the States. Anjiz (22) Stakes winner in England in U.S. passed away in Argentina. I saw him win the Phoenix Stakes at Keeneland. Black Tie Affair (25) The Horse of the Year of 1991 got better every year for Ernie Poulos. I sa...Read More

  • MarcelloMarocco · Dance Smartly was the one that bothered me the most. Beautiful mare, and Great racer, but she had to be euthanized after a paddock accident. Then there is Izvestia , another Canadian TC winner who was euthanized at 4 after a catastrophic injury during a race. Finally this year the passing of the best Sire since Northern dancer....Sadler's Wells. · 10 days ago ·

  • LAZMANNICK · A filly that was just beginning to run at the longer distances where she thrived. In races from 8.5F and longer she won 5 of 6 including her last four. In 21 other races all at shorter distances she won only 7 of 21. What could have been? They finally get her figured out and then tragedy. RIP girl. · 173 days ago ·

The Queen of American Racing, Zenyatta, proved once again, why she is one of the best- of- all- time racemares  that we have ever seen. Asked to "go" a little bit sooner than usual, she responded by another convincing win over a hard trying Rinterval in the Gr. 1 Clement Hirsch at Del Mar....Read More
What a wrecking machine Tuscan Evening has become since coming to America from the UK to race. She raced well in the UK also. But didn't have wins. She had a lot of 2nd and 3rd place finishes. With her best effort in the UK having been a 2nd place finish in the 2008 Irish 1000 Guineas. But this mare has absolutely flourished in since coming across the pond. Having now won 6 straight, and 7 of her last 8. With her only loss being a 2nd place finish to a great mare herself, Ventura, in the Matriarch Stakes back in November. I would think whichever route Tuscan Evenings connections decide to go? She'll definitely be one of the betting favorites for the 2010 Breeders Cup F&M Turf. Or the Breeders Cup Ladies Classic. My guess is that she'll be more likely to be entered in the F&M Turf though. JMO.
RIP Tuscan Evening, she colasped on the track and has passed.

Tuscan Evening figured to get loose on the lead in the Modesty Cap, and she did, setting an exceedingly slow pace. So when she won by a half-length over 16-1 Eclair de Lune, the first response was, 'meh.' But this actually was better than merely meh. Yes, TE got a favorable setup, but she flew home....Read More
William Deburgh’s Tuscan Evening kept her 2010 record intact with a front-stepping half-length victory at Arlington Park in the Grade III $150,000 Modesty Handicap, one of three graded stakes that makes up the track’s annual Million Preview Day card.   Trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, the Irish-...Read More
Couldn’t you just imagine Jimmy Durante being a huge fan of Hot Cha Cha? What a difference coming to America from racing in Ireland and the UK has made for this mare. When Tuscan Evening raced as a 2yr.old and 3yr.old in Ireland and the UK, she didn't race badly. But her record was 11 starts, with 0 win's, 3 place, and 3 show efforts. With her best race coming in the 2008 Irish 1000 Guineas. Where she finished 2nd to Halfway to Heaven. Since racing in America, Tuscan Evening has posted 10 win's, 5 of them in a row, with 1 place and 1 show in 13 starts. Incredible what a change in scenery has done for this mare's racing career.2
