Prince Khalid Abdullah has really sent two of his best older mares to America to race for Juddmonte Farms. Treat Gently has won her last two starts. While stablemate, Proviso, has really been on a tear. Having now won 3 straight Grade 1 races, with a victory over Forever Together over the weekend in the G1 Diana Stakes at Saratoga. Ironically, Treat Gently also beat Forever Together in the Robert G. Dick Memorial Handicap at Delaware Park in July. Both Treat Gently and Proviso are very tough, very well seasoned race-mares that seem to have gotten better with age. It won't surprise me to see both of these great Khalid Abdullah owned mares in some of November's Breeders Cup races.
I have always enjoyed live racing at Delaware Park. Much has changed since my early forays to Delaware in the 80’s. Slot machines fill the plant and the simulcast theater is top notch.
