Expecting a great run today. Watch and experience the power of O'Brien/Spencer and Champion Sire Galileo.
  • rafirox · He hasn't done so hot in america and he is in a slump...... Point of Entry is eating up to much cash... I like Wake at 10-1 but I put money WP on Little Mike, he should be alone on the lead, which is always a big tactical advantage. · 1668 days ago
  • rafirox · Wow, i got killed, haha.... Nice run by Kindergarten Kid, he put up a decent run. Point Of Entry is an absolute monster! · 1668 days ago
Expecting a great run today. Witness the power of Euro Turf with O'Brien/Spencer and Champion Sire Galileo.
he hasn't done well against older so maybe he's hear to stay till the breeders cup..???..
Another disappointing effort out of Treasure Beach in Ireland. He ends up 4th behind Galileo's Choice, Massiyn, and Bible Belt in the G3 Ballyroan Stakes at Leopardstown today.
Easy prep with no real threat. This Man' O' War is very underclassed and most conteders in this field should not be competing at a G.1 level.
  • jmac500 · Point of Entry will beat him. · 1745 days ago
  • buckpasser · Nice to see the Phipps silks in the winners circle agin. Almost did a dbl with Boisterous at Arlington. Finished 2nd though · 1745 days ago
Im really excited to watch him race in Sha Tin on Sunday
  • ILuvTurfRacing · Just now saw that Treasure Beach is going to Hong Kong for the APQEII. That's the influence of Fitriani Hay having bought shares in him, because Aidan O'Brien's never been big on sending any of the horses in his stable owned by Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith, or Mr. and Mrs. John Magnier over to Hong Kong to race. The race should suit Treasure Beach, as he's proven in the Chester Vase plus the Epsom and Irish Derbies that he stays 12f with no problem. But he also showed in the Secretariat Stakes at Arlington that he's also capable of grinding out a win at G1 level over 10f, too. That's just what the APQEII should be for him. A grinding 10f G1 race. · 1823 days ago
  • AmbitiousD · His chances are looking better and better. He won the Secretariat over a yielding course and its raining puppies and kittens outside right now. I'm guessing there will be a soft course tomorrow, but he races in the 8th race on the card, so I dont know how chewed up the track will be by post time · 1823 days ago
Looks like his next start will be in the G1 APQEII Cup in Hong Kong
Owners Jim and Fitri Hay yesterday strengthened their connections with Ballydoyle by acquiring a share of Treasure Beach. The Hay's last season managed to acquire shares in both Cape Blanco and Fame and Glory from Smith, Magnier, and Tabor. Treasure Beach is set to be Ballydoyle's representative in the G1 Sheema Classic on world cup night. But whether or not he'll be wearing his usual purple and white silks of Derek Smith or the colors of Mrs. Fitri Hay in the race still remains to be seen?
My guess is that with the retirement of Cape Blanco that Treasure Beach is now likely to become Coolmore's #1 for this year's BC Turf? He has the win and your in berth from his win at Arlington back in August, so Coolmore won't have to supplement. Treasure Beach is a really talented 3yr.old, also sired by Galileo. He beat King George winner, Nathaniel, on his seasonal debut in the G3 Chester Vase. Then went to Epsom and just missed winning the G1 Epsom Derby by mere inches when Pour Moi mugged him right on the wire. He rebounded from the Epsom loss by winning the G1 Irish Derby at the Curragh. Then he came to America and won the G1 Secretariat Stakes. Stepping down in trip from 12 to 10f. He went to Longchamp next and finished 4th behind Meandre in the G1 Grand Prix De Paris. I'm still furious that Coolmore used a horse like Treasure Beach, who was nearly dual Derby winner, and American G1 winner, as a pacemaker for St Nicholas Abbey and So You Think in the Arc over the weekend. Which used him up early in the race. A horse good enough to win a Chester Vase, Irish Derby, Secretariat Stakes, and run 2nd in an Epsom Derby should've been allowed to try and win the Arc on his own merits instead of being used up as a pacemaker, IMO. But if run's in the BC Turf, he'll be ridden a lot differently than he was in the Arc. So You Think also has a win and your in for the BC Turf for Coolmore by virtue of his Irish Champion Stakes win. But I'm pretty certain that Michael Tabor, Derick Smith, John Magnier, and the rest of the Coolmore mafia are salivating at the prospect of running So You Think in the BC Classic over his preferred trip of 10f.
I got the impression from some articles that Aidan is thinking of pointing this guy to the Classic rather than the Turf. Anyone else get that impression?
  • footlick · I hven't read anything, but my gut feeling is that 10 furlongs on the dirt might be a little too short for him. · 2077 days ago
  • orangeman88 · I completely agree, I think he's best at 1 1/2. Hope he goes to the Turf. · 2077 days ago
Does anyone think that TB is better than Cape Blanco? His Secretariat was faster than the Million. Plus I think he is better at 1 1/2 miles. Look out for the BC Turf
  • BrianZipse · Not yet. Yesterday's times were the function of continuing rain. I do agree with the 1 1/2 miles though, Treasure Beach will appreciate that distance more than Cape Blanco. · 2080 days ago
  • LAZMANNICK · It would be close. The Secretariat was almost 2 seconds faster than the Million, but it is interesting to note that from the 6F mark the closing half mile was about the same (49.35 in the Million and 49.27 in the Secretariat). Cape Bianco actually closed a little faster because he was 3 1/2L off the lead at that point and Treasure Beach 1 length. The thing is, both have proven that they can gat the 12F as evidenced by their victories in the Group One Irish Derby. I would side with Cape Bianco but if they both compete it would be one of the top races in N/A this year. · 2080 days ago
