He passed away from a supposed infection.
when did this horse die? i feel so out of the loop....he's listed as deceased.
He came back very heavy at Del Mar. I do not think Baffert has been able to train him the way he would like. Truth be told, I would love to see him sent to a top trainer back east. I do not know that his hooves can handle Bullet Bob's training style and the hard SA surface, and I don't think he likes poly.

  • tmallios1 · i just read the full thread header.sent to a top trainer he says. What is Baffs, chopped liver. Maybe they should send him to the feed program. How can anyone question Baffert and think anyone will improve on him.Tell me Amino, have you seen any horse leave the premises of Senor Baffert and another trainer improved him or her. · 299 days ago
That was just all guts!

  • Sully · I don't know about those races, tc, but definitely an overnight stakes should be next on the agenda. · 299 days ago
  • Sullivan · I like him in the Clark, it is a nice spot and Baffert can ship into Louisville · 299 days ago
Looked good once again and I hppe he keeps up the great work!
Asked if Tiz The Truth, impressive 3 ¼-length winner on opening day, might be a candidate for the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile, Bob Baffert said Friday morning, “I have no plan for him.”

  • amino998 · He had a quarter crack early in the year, maybe just taking it easy, Malibu the target? · 301 days ago
  • tmallios1 · I cant see Baffs shortening himup,His long range target is probably the Strub Series at the beginning of the year. · 301 days ago
Back to his favorite track and wins in a romp.
  • Mary Z. · This is Gary Stevens '13 Derby hopeful mentioned earlier. He looked very happy with the win. Couldn't hear the interview at the time. · 329 days ago
Back to his favorite track on opening day at Santa Anita and he should bounce back.
  • goblin · Looks as though he's in an AOC on Friday---hope he does well! Where is amino--he'll want to know! · 332 days ago
*On the bounce* coming off his last “effort”, ½ mile in a handy 46.80 at Santa Anita today.

Just didn't fire today, I'd love to see him on turf.
Went a handy 5ths this morning and was entered in the El Cajon Stakes {6th on Friday @Dmr}. Going a mile out of the #2 post with Stevens/Baffert. I believed the rumors that this was one of Stevens’ Derby colts. Dark horse for the BCC exacta :D

The Smarty Jones,i saw the nominations. Not much in the race.Broke his maiden at Belmont in the spring impressively in a top notch field. In fla. he beat Freedom Child. Will run all day,Had unfortunate gate issue on Belmont day in the Easy Goer and then had to deal with a monster inside bias track.Has a big shot on Monday.I planned to go south for the race,Holiday traffic will be a B??????.,so will pass on the road trip. · 358 days ago

Worked 3 furlongs in 38.40 at Santa Anita (11/13)
Any news on this horse? I have high hopes for him.

  • goblin · You're welcome, but so far I don't find any info on TTT. I did discover that Curly Top is working regularly (and apparently well). Also discovered Baffert has nice things to say about a filly named Social Bug, by Curlin. More on TTT if/when I find it.... · 424 days ago
  • goblin · Oh, thanks, Floridaf, our posts crossed. · 424 days ago
Baffert has reported that he has stopped on this one -- he needs some time. So, he is off the trail. I guess G Stevens has not found his Derby horse yet after all.
Wonder why Baffert decided the Wood for Tiz the Truth.

  • amino998 · What?>>It's all about the Pegram Party. · 518 days ago
  • goblin · Tiz the Truth had a quarter crack and has only worked once, on 3/18, since previously working on 2/17. I'm guessing that they felt he couldn't be ready for the Rebel (his previous goal) or the Sunland Derby. Timing may have seemed right for the Wood. · 518 days ago
24:30, 24:09, 24:41, 23:48 were his internal fractions in his maiden win.
  • amino998 · And looked good doing it. · 528 days ago
  • rafirox · Shocked, after internal fractions like that (getting faster) he only finished in 1:36.28. He wasn't shown the whip, though. And he drew away with just a little urging. He has a beautiful stride. Very determined stride. Head down, all biz-ness. Excited to see him face tough horses next race. · 528 days ago
Came home in 23.48 seconds in Maiden win at a mile watch out. Beleive he will win next start in Stakes regardless of whoshowsup.

  • dani.pugh · He was left alone on the lead and clicked off steady 12's. Over Santa Anita the pace was easy. It was a good win, but I like his race one start back better, in terms of judging his ability. Down inside of horses, not a place i'd want a young inexeperience horse to be but he handled it. He then split horses, dueled on the inside of Del Mar Sunset, again not an optimal place, but still out dueled him. Just got out edged by Demonic who had the momentum on the outside. The pace was quick and he still came home in 12 and 3/5. · 552 days ago
  • Sysonby · Agree with dani.pugh, this horse is definitely one to watch · 552 days ago
Wow he impressed me in that one, he looked flawless!

  • cocoa2 · I know a lot about Tiznow, he being my favorite California horse. I always "vote" for his offspring. This horse is very mature, and will be interesting when we see a step up in class. · 566 days ago
  • tcglory · Stevens has his 3year old if this one progress more he will be a threat on the derby trial · 566 days ago
My Derby horse!!! Just saw his win at Santa Ania a few minutes ago... runs like his father, with pure class!!! He will definitely make a splash in the triple crown scene!!!
  • rafirox · Are you sure? He's only a maiden winner..... However it was a good performance. · 566 days ago
  • goblin · After listening to the HRTV people this P.M., who said Gary "couldn't be any higher on this colt and fully expected to win" today; I think we have probably seen the horse Gary alluded to in his comeback interview on BH weeks ago. Tiz The Truth is probably the mystery horse, in my opinion. · 566 days ago
