on May 19, Tiz a Minister worked 5F at Betfair Hollywood Park on Fast All Weather Track in 1:01.20 h finishing 16/39.
Trainer Paul Aguirre advised that Tiz a Minister, third in the recent Snow Chief Stakes, popped an abscess but has recovered quickly and went to the track Sunday morning. The 3-year-old is being pointed to the $100,000, Grade III Affirmed Handicap June 2.

Nothing wrong with running less than 10 days back for the derby, Alysheba, Avies Copy, Leo Castelli ran back in the derby back in 1987, after running in the Bluegrass 9 days before, and all three ran great in the derby. Caveat won the derby Trial a week before in 1983, and would have won the derby had he not checked at the top of the stretch. So Tiz a Minister is probably in better shape to run the Derby than a horse with 8 weeks off like Will Take Charge.
