  • patrick.l.mccaslin · The preakness was a better distance for Oxbow then the KD, plus he had the one spot at churchill. But I will not be using him or any other horse for that matter, Orb included to finish in the top 3 spots at the Belmont. Horses that have raced in both are going to be at a huge dis advantage going into the Belmont. They have raced twice in the last month and it will show come belmont. Also Oxbow in my opinion cannot go 1-1/2. especially on the front end. So all that have raced in both the KD and Preakness are pitches for me. There will be some well rested ones that will do better in this race! · 27 days ago ·

Congratulations to Preakness 2013 hero Oxbow. Nobody wanted the early lead and Gary Stevens was more than happy to canter around the track and win this second jewel of the Triple Crown.Read More
1. Orb (Malibu Moon) – Tabasco Cat is the only horse in the last 41 years to win the Preakness Stakes from post one and Orb likes to make wide, sweeping moves. If he is a legit Triple Crown threat the inside post will not bother him and Rosario continues to ride great. I have always liked Shug’s col...Read More

  • LaurieRoss · Govenor Charlie's dam was unraced. His second dam, Silverbulletday won the Miss Preakness stakes. His second tail sire Real Quiet (the sire of Govenor Charlie's sire, Midnight Lute) won the Preakness Stakes. However, tracing directly back through only his female line (dam, second dam, third dam, etc.) only one horse produced by this female family has won the Preakness. I hope that clarifies it for you CauseForConcern · 31 days ago ·

  • CauseForConcern · Thanks, Laurie, that helps me understand a lot better. I think the first part of my confusion was the name of Gov Charlie's dam(SilverbulletWay, not SilverbulletDay). An oversight on my part. Thanks, again, Laurie. · 31 days ago ·

D. Wayne Lukas (trainer, Oxbow, winner) – “What a story this is. I’m happy for Gary (Stevens) and I’m just so happy for Mr. (Brad) Kelley. He’s trying to revitalize Calumet, and now Calumet is back in a Classic race. That’s just very gratifying. It’s been a while (Charismatic, 1999), but it never ge...Read More

  • yukichan · And here comes Gov-eh-nor Charrrrllie making a run with ORB! It's Orb pulling away, Govenor Charlie and Will Take Charge! But It's ORB by 1, Ork by 2, ORB on his way to Belmont --we have a CONTENDER for the TRIPLE CROWN. Full disclosure, as a track coach I preach visualization. · 33 days ago ·

  • forego139 · In this case this is not like the Ky. Dby. so therefore IMO post 1 is not a big deal, if the horse is good enough he will win, especially at 1 3/16th. Orb is coming into the Preakness like no other Derby winner has since Affirmed and Sat. will tell the story. I wish him and the connections well and may everyone in the race have a safe trip. · 33 days ago ·
