  • Dressage3295 · Very saddening. Would have loved to see her perform again with more training underneath her (stopped due to the first injury), or perhaps see the talent of her foals. · 440 days ago ·

Thursby woke up Sunday at Gulfstream but Prado handled him poorly, going wide around the turns, good stretch run but ran out of steam shortly before the finish, taking 4th 4th.
Thursby got either 5th or 6th today.. he didnt look like his shins were bothering him anymore! He got stuck behind some horses had a NICE charge at the end and was gaining fairly well! I think we have ourselves a late bloomer people!
  • bigfootmauler · k he got 7th, but out of a field of 13, huge step up and he was the only one who was still running at the end! · 820 days ago ·

  • Floridaf · Dosage may not be completely valid, but, so far, I have found that it is a good indication of what a horse may or may not be capable of. Of course, like travel_vic said, once the horse proves what it can and cannot do, then throw all the theory out of the window. Ancient Rome's DP was pretty spot on when he tried to stretch out in the GP Derby. I don't mind eating my words if I'm wrong, but I'll need to see Secret Circle go the distance. Otherwise, to me, he is a sprinter trying to stretch out and he may or may not be successful. · 838 days ago ·

  • footlick · IMO, the thoroughbred needs stamina wing representation to be genetically balanced and sound. In Europe, many sprinters still have representation in their stamina wing. It helps with the durability of the horse. Hopefully breeders can use the DP to breed a balanced animal, which in turn will produce a sounder animal. · 838 days ago ·

Three works spread over last three weeks. two half mile breezes on dirt and one on grass all indicate shins are not a bother anymore and he is filling in to his body.
