G2 Hutcheson Stakes winner Thunder Moccasin has been retired. He will stand at stud at Bridlewood Farm in Ocala, FL for a fee of $2,500.

  • Floridaf · I was able to contact Jack Wolf of Starlight Racing. TM did sustain an injury after his Hutcheson victory. After giving him time off, they made the decision to go ahead and retire him. He did not, however, specify what type of injury TM had. · 174 days ago ·

Sounds like Thunder Moccasin is training well and may be pointed towards the Kings Bishop. Would love to see him regain his early season form.

Pletcher and connections will not be sending TM to collect any Roses, based on a pedigree decison they plan to keep him in 1 turn races for now. Booo!!!
Supposedly T.Mocc will run in the Swale and Pletcher is advising that he will stay a sprinter.
Pletcher is the master, with a dozen specimens getting ready for the Derby. This one is a sleeper, but will break from the gate just fine and leave them its his dust.

A.P.Warrior has a similar pedigree to Bernardini and resembles him and Quiet American in my opinion could be a horse to watch in Thunder Moccasin and a sire to watch also

Very Nice horse, Would be great to see him faceoff with his stablemate Algorithms. He could be better then him, I honestly think he is.
His first winner, Majestic Number, came in February of 1996. On Saturday Pletcher has horses entered in seven races at Gulfstream and two races at Aqueduct. Interestingly his entry in race 4 at Gulfstream is also named Majestic Number. Read More
