Older Comments about Thorn Park...

With great sadness I report that Thorn Park was euthanised and laid to rest in New Zealand today, losing his long battle with laminitis. A multiple grade 1 and 2 winner on the track in Australia and NZ, he was an exciting stallion, as the sire of 5 G1 winners including Jimmy Choux. Ocean Park and Veyron. A loss for NZ breeding for sure.
It would be a tremendous loss for NZ breeding to lose Thorn Park. While his son, Ocean Park, was crossing the finish first in the Cox Plate, Thorn Park was continuing his fight for survival in after having surgery for laminitis last week. Ocean Park gave Thorn Park his most important success as a sire by winning the Cos Plate, avenging the narrow defeat of his other high-profile son Jimmy Choux in the same race last year.
