Older Comments about The Nile...

I am a NZer, and it was my first time at Royal Ascot and second time ever at a race meeting. I was left devastated at what I saw before me with a horse I had never heard of and now a horse I will never forget... The Nile. I am not sure I will ever go to another meeting and I will always remember and link Royal Ascot with the horse that seemed forgotton so quickly as the celebrations went on and next race continued. Please at least someone tell me honestly that what was to happen after the fall was for the best interest of THE HORSE and not the institution of racing. RIP The Nile...Always remembered, I love you xx

  • icyhotboo · Life must go on. Sorry but public displays are frowned in England. They'll cry when they get home. I was warned about any display of emotion at my father's funeral. Don't take it personally it's just the culture. · 1200 days ago

Racingpost.com reports that The Nile has been euthanized due to injuries suffered during the running of the St. James Palace at Ascot.
  • ILuvTurfRacing · Very said that this one had to be put down at the end of the St. James's Palace Stakes. A very smart looking colt for Prince Khalid Abdullah and John Gosden. · 1201 days ago
