CUTE name! lol
Updated 2010 Kentucky Derby Graded Stakes earnings as of March 31, 2010. Key contenders Eskendereya, Caracortado, Schoolyard Dreams, Drosselmeyer, Jackson Bend and Pleasant Prince will all likely require more graded stakes earnings to get in. Read More
  • bband · It seems like more horses will get shut out this year than in recent memory. What will be interesting is if Pletcher starts all 7 horses, fully knowing the lesser ones can't compete with his top runners. But what it will do is keep several real contenders out of the race. · 1149 days ago ·

Trainer Rick Dutrow confirmed Saturday that he still plans to train Homeboykris into the Kentucky Derby instead of getting another prep into the colt. The results of the Wood Memorial, Santa Anita Derby and Illinois Derby shuffled the order of the Kentucky Derby graded earnings a bit. Read More
  • Rossington · As well as he's raced over every conventional dirt track that he's ever ran, I still find it hard to believe that Rick Dutrow isn't going to take a shot at the 2010 Kentucky Derby with D' Funnybone. I really think it's a distance question with Dutrow. But that wouldn't deter me from taking a shot with this colt, because none of the incoming contenders will be proven yet at 1-1/4. • Rossington · Boy, that Florida Stallion Series sure must not have paid very well for Jackson Bend to be so far down the list in Graded earnings. I also thought D' Funnybone with win's in the Saratoga Special, the Futurity Stakes, the Hutcheson Stakes, and the Swale Stakes, plus a place effort in the Frank Gomez Stakes would have acquired more money in Graded earnings than his total suggest. · 1146 days ago ·

  • ruby · Agree. Endorsement has a very nice pedigree for distance with Distorted Humor on the top out of an AP Indy mare. And yes, if Lucky or Eskendereya don't win, this thing is wide, wide open. · 1152 days ago ·

The most important horse on the 2010 Triple Crown trail so far is -- drumroll please -- WOW WOW WOW. He brings serious pace to Saturday's Louisiana Derby and opens it up for closers to qualify for the Kentucky Derby in a year loaded with nothing but speed-types. He single-handedly enflames the La De...Read More
A front-running winner of the San Rafael S. (G3) and Southwest S. (G3), CONVEYANCE (Indian Charlie) will make his final Kentucky Derby (G1) prep against eight rivals in Sunday's $800,000 Sunland Derby (G3). The 1 1/8-mile event became more important when it was upgraded to Grade 3 status this year, ...Read More
Turns out that Smart Strike colts CAN win big races on synthetics and dirt, ala LOOKIN AT LUCKY in last Saturday's G2 Rebel at Oaklawn. Guess that blows a hole in the argument that the carpet single-handedly beat Curlin in the 2008 Breeders' Cup. You might recall, Curlin also was sired by Smart Stri...Read More
Zayat Stable’s 3-year-old Eskendereya worked an easy five furlongs in 1:02 2/5 Sunday morning at Palm Meadows as he is kept on edge for next Saturday’s $750,000 Florida Derby (G1) at Gulfstream Park, leading a team of a dozen stakes runners on the work tab from trainer Todd Pletcher’s arsenal of ta...Read More

Nice 2nd in Risen Star for a jump from a maiden win to a Grade 2. Pace was real easy up front, so he will have to show more next time.
