For my money, Tasso vs. Storm Cat was the best Breeders Cup Juvenile ever. 1985. What a race!!! Tasso tags a determined Storm Cat at the wire.

jay s. · travel_vic. You've witnessed some AWESOME races firsthand. I wish I could've been there. I have a friend that's into racing as much as me. I was a Laffit Pincay guy and he was a Chris McCarron guy. He was pulling for Storm Cat and I was pulling for Tasso. He thought Storm Cat had it at the 1/8th pole, but I could see Tasso laying it down. I sure wish we could've been there in person, but trust me, we were standing two feet in front of the tv screen jumping and yelling and using our invisible whip (I'm sure you know what I'm talking about there) to get our horse to the line. travel_vic · Both Laffit and McCarron are nice fellows, approachable and interested in their fans. I corned McCarron in the paddock at Hasting's and offered him a shot of John Henery which I asked him to sign. He was there to ride an out of town shipper, but statred to talk about JH at such lenght, the others had to "remind" him it was post time. QUOTE: "That animal made his own trip and outguessed me many a time." Caught Laffit twice, once to sign a photo of him on Swale the first Satruday of May and again, right after I got Laz Barrera to sign the winner's cirlce ( Bob Coglianese`s great photo) after he beat Bid in the Jockey Club Gold Cup. He came out of the jocks room at both Del Mar (for the Swale photo) and out form the Anita jocks room for the Affirmed. Laz`s comment was classid. I asked: `Would you please sign this photo of one of your BETTER horses?" He replied :Better? I would take a army of them." He called Affirmed "tougher than a 5 cent steak!" · 270 days ago ·

travel_vic · Hard to say the best one I ever saw, but the Breeder's CUp Classic was amazing. Three horses bouncing off one another form about the 1/8th pole to the wire, DQ which took about 10 minutes...Great race...Look up Carson Hollow/You, Test Stakes, on You Tube to see another fantastic contest. · 270 days ago ·
