Tomorrow, February 9, 2013, legendary horseman, John Nerud will celebrate his 100th birthday. • forego139 · Love to see Mr. Baffert back in the spot light where he belongs, Louiville still is aways away but with fingers crossed we might have seen the one that will be wearing the Rose's this first Sat. in May, no one has been as impressive as this talented son of Tapit was today and will take someone coming from nowhere like he did(Flashback) or one of the other three yr. olds suddenly start to improve by leaps and bounds to compete with Flashback who IMO is the best we have seen so far going back to last yr. Stay tuned for this one. · 521 days ago ·

Ta Wee’s sire was Intentionally, the 1959 Champion Sprint Horse. Ta Wee took Champion Sprint Horse honors herself in 1969 and 1970. Ta Wee’s success was preceded by her half brother Dr. Fager, who was 1967 and 1968 Champion Sprint Horse, as well as 1968 Champion Male Turf Horse, Champion Older Male Horse and Horse of the Year. Aspidistra was a fabulous broodmare. Has another broodmare had such tremendous success with two of her offspring?

If looking silly is going to be the objective -- well, they probably could look even sillier, couldn't they? They could say they're not going to Oaklawn Park because they don't like the corned beef sandwiches, or they could complain the hot springs there are just too, too, too hot. But for purposes ...Read More
Many racing fans are prepared to state emphatically that Zenyatta and Rachel Alexandra are two of the best, if not THE best, fillies of the past half-century. The list from which to chose, however, is longer than most think. Below is a reminder just how extensive that list is. With almost half the y...Read More

  • RyanBrady · Sunrise Smarty is my pick in this race, because he is not "The Highweight", and his early speed on the Aqueduct racetrack (Main or Inner) is as dangerous as they come. If Todd Pletcher leaves one of his in the race rather than opting for The Grade 1 Cigar Mile on Saturday then they will be the ones to beat on paper. One of the nicer editions of this race in recent years. · 958 days ago ·

While doing my daily surf thing the other day, I noticed that a poster on Thoroughbred racing brought up the subject of his Top 10 Fillies of All Time. This got me to wondering, which were mine? So with pen and notepad (remember those?) I began jotting down names. My brain went on tilt when I reache...Read More

  • Thead'or · My favorite filly has always been Landaluce. I'm dissapointed that she has so few votes. In only 5 races she proved herself to be one of the greatest fillies of all time. You can geuss why I'm an avid Rachel fan. She reminds me so much of how Landaluce was. · 1280 days ago ·
