  • The Doctor · i just read watchmaker's column over at DRF and he claims that sweet reason got a 58 beyer speed figure for that race. seems a little low doesn't it? · 1052 days ago
  • LAZMANNICK · The average time that the nine races were run at Aqueduct was 4.73 over the track records. Sweet Reason’s time was 4.32 seconds off. For the four distance races (2-turns) the average time was 4.92 seconds over the track records. Sweet Reason’s time was 4.32 seconds over. Aqueduct was not fast like Santa Anita was yesterday for sure. The Beyer number, if correct, is very questionable as I’m sure that the variant applied (to equalize the racing surface) will be a pretty high number. The other thing to remember about Sweet Reason is that she appears to be a stone closer and will always run to the pace, be it fast or slow. The pace in her race, after a reasonably fast first quarter, was extremely slow for the middle two fractions. Sweet Reason then took over and showed her class as her final quarter blew the preceding three quarter numbers away. IMO, in Sweet Reason’s case the Beyer number doesn’t matter. She is all class and when she sets her mind to it is very determined. · 1051 days ago

Oh I didn't even realize she was in the race lol but wow what a win.
She has a nice turn of foot and made up strides effortlessly in her win today.
