What the Nation is saying about Summer Front...

It took Lochte seven tries to break his maiden, debuting last April and graduating in mid-December. Three races later, he was a Grade 1 winner. Read More

  • kyle.stasierowski · I love this horse. I wonder if Ms. Vogel (of Crossed Sabres Farm) named her gelding after the U. S. Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte. I say this because the swimmer's last name is spelled just like this horse's name: Lochte. · 61 days ago ·
  • drvivianbell · Kyle, I read somewhere that the gelding is indeed named after the swimmer. · 61 days ago ·
Thanks in large part to Falling Sky and Narvaez, today was a very profitable day. Hoping to turn it into an even more profitable weekend, I will reinvest a portion of my winnings in a very interesting late pick 4 tomorrow at Gulfstream Park. Three turf races and then the Grade 1 Donn ... what more c...Read More

  • mmidland · Wow, great handicapping and even better betting! Impressive to say the least! Great call on Lochte - a star in the making! · 65 days ago ·
Phipps Stable homebred Imagining has been a consistent barn favorite for Hall of Fame trainer Shug McGaughey, capping the 2013 season with his elusive first graded stakes victory. Read More
He is such a nice horse, I'm glad he won.
This Saturday at Gulfstream Park the Pick 5 sequence came up tough as nails. There are no lead pipe locks in my humble opinion (maybe one, I’ll talk on that later). When a scenario as such arises, there are positives and negatives that come along with said circumstances. If you look at things pessim...Read More

  • amino998 · Agree that crossing your fingers and singling a race where one *thinks the horse has a very decent chance at winning, but there are a few others to be very scared of* makes it a tough proposition. · 96 days ago ·
  • geldedridgling · Today's sequence was almost impossible to figure out. It's good for Gulfstream but bad for the handicapper. · 95 days ago ·
Summer Front didn’t get the kind of pace that a closer typically needs in the 60th running of the $200,000 Fort Lauderdale (G2) on Saturday at Gulfstream Park. He almost didn’t get the room, either. Read More
Having trained horses off and on since 1980 and full-time since 2001, Henry Collazo has won 599 races in his career, none of them bigger than the $200,000 Fort Lauderdale (G2) last January at Gulfstrea m Park. Read More

  • nayrod64 · Dan can run on anything, which he's proven that. That particular surface wasn't agreeable with him. He showed no interest and didn't even tried. This animal didn't want to run! · 191 days ago ·
  • tmallios1 · Nayrod, why would you say that.He ran a very big race,Johnny V. never put the screws to him(rightly so)This is not the trophy they were after. Do not be little Super Maxs' effort. Since the race on Haskell Day,he has been in magnificent form.Fact Johnny V. did not rush Dan off of his feet and attempt to win at all costs. This should bring light to what i have been saying. This nonsense of Undefeated seasons and H.O.T.Y. votings. A lthough a great honor and all would love to be the recipients of the award. The thought process never comes in to play during the year.Kudos to J.R. and the connections for putting Horse before glory and fame. · 191 days ago ·
Wise Dan faces nine other rivals in his toughest test of the year in the Grade 1 Shadwell Turf Mile.Read More

  • Floridaf · No worries. I had to double check myself since horses don't always race in the country they in which they were bred. Winning Prize is fast. This is going to be a good race. · 195 days ago ·
  • geldedridgling · Even though Winning Prize on paper is somewhat impressive, it’s difficult for speed horses to win races like these unless they are the lone speed. Silver Max and Winning Prize should do each other in and Wise Dan should be the beneficiary, but if the pace is really fast and Wise Dan gets too close to it he may be softened up for maybe Summer Front or Wilcox Inn. Hey, you’ve got to throw a clunker in sometime, and we some rain possible, today might be that time. · 194 days ago ·
Wise Dan will face nine rivals Saturday as he goes for a repeat victory in the Grade I Shadwell Turf Mile at Keeneland. Read More
  • Mike in SB · There have been a lot of 5 horse fields with a 2-5 favorite this year, but one horse that everyone seems to want to try and beat is Wise Dan. He always draws a pretty good size field, although he looks like much the best horse in here. It will be a tough race but I look for Wise Dan to repeat on his way to a second Breeders Cup Mile victory. · 196 days ago ·
