Strike Oil has a speed over stamina pedigree and should do well over all surfaces. His sire gets mainly precocious sprinters, but he gets some oomph from damsire Silver Deputy and French Group 1 winning second damsire Val De Lorne. Strike Oil is a half-brother to a stakes winner, his dam is a full sister to Queen’s Plate winner Archer’s Bay and the second dam Adorned was a stakes winner at 1 ¼ miles.
