When it comes to modern day thoroughbred confirmation, I like Summer Bird's, D' Oro's, Awesome Again's, Ghostzapper, Mineshaft, Proud Citizen, and Street Sense. Tapit, Smart Strike, Harlen's Holiday, Bernardini, and Elusive Quaility aren't too bad. Malibu Moon's would be nice if he didn't have such a thick neck. Lemon Drop Kid's would be nice too if he wasn't so dang long in his back. I own a super long mare- she was incredibly hard to train once I got into the upper levels. · 175 days ago ·

rafirox · His neck is stubby. You want real conformation? Take a look at photos of Buckpasser........ Most beautifully confronted horses I ever have ever seen, in pictures. OR, take a look at Dynaformer. Look at his powerful shoulders, and his crest. Dynaformer was small though, so that was partly a turn off. The SECOND most beatiful was Secretariat. He was perfectly confronted. His eyes fiery and aware, ears pointing in all directions, cannons as big as rocks, knees perfectly placed, withers perfect, EVERYTHING perfect. rafirox · Yes Dressage. He is SECOND best behind Buckpasser, IMO. The reason I talked about Red so much was because I actually laid eyes on him. He was absolutely stunning. He passed every test. Knees and Cannons balanced. BIG and STRONG massivly shoulders. His Heart Grith was perfect. His withers were great. His neck was beautifully structured, which allowed his stride to be rythmic and smooth. Last test, the eyes and ears. The eyes should be aware and feisty, the ears should be wondering. I laid eyes on him, and immediately took a photo. He heard the flash, pricked his ears so masculine, looked right at me and gave me a look, right at me, and turned so I could get a better angle. After he was done posing for me, he looked right at me, a look that said: "FINE, one picture! Now get the hell away from me!" G-d disguised in a horse, G-d's perfect creature. Red was cocky. People loved him, but I have a theory that if he talked, he would have been the most hated horse in america. HE WAS SO COCKY!!!!!!! footlick · Comma to the Top looks like a miler to me. Indian Charlie sires horses who can stretch out to 8, 8.5 even 9f successfully. I would not say he is a typical sire of sprinters.
