What the Nation is saying about Sound of Drums...

This year this horse has been running without shoes. Can anyone tell us more?

  • travel_vic · Each race track, either via a visible board, in lights on the tote board or announced over the changes, tells the bettor how the horses are shod with the default position as aluminum shoes. they can be steel, shoes with caulks or turn downs, bar shoes (signs of quarter cracks) plate shoes or padded shoes which cover the frog (tender feet and these rarely if ever win, have seen it about 4 times) and then unshod. The standardbreds also have glued on shoes, and an intetesting one called flip flops (my understanding is they are spmething like snow shoes and the hoof lifts off them during a stride) The information is there you just have to ask for how to find it. · 322 days ago ·
