  • ssinn96 · Then what stallion has the perfect confirmation in your opinion Sullivan? I think soldat will get more mares then you think being an upcoming rising star son. And hes pretty inexspensive · 1326 days ago
  • Sullivan · I don't believe in perfect conformation. There is sprinting conformation, routing conformation... all I can really say is if a horse is proportional and has the capability to be sound. Stallions whose conformation I like but are still not perfect are Philanthropist and Ustinov · 1326 days ago
Woodford Thoroughbreds actually. going to stand by Biondetti, Vinyard haven, repent, and crown of thorns.
To stand at woodford Stallions. good spot for him
Hope he has a great retirement. It's a shame he got injured. I was looking forward to seeing him in the Donn.
soldat is entered in a salty 1 1/16 stakes saturday at aqueduct
Soldat continues to train steadily in New York, most recently breezing 5f in 1:02.06 (28/49) at Belmont Park (dirt training) on 11-11.
any1 got news on him
  • Mary Z. · Go to the third to last paragraph at this article. "Soldat was given ample time off following the Derby to be brought back for a 4-year-old campaign. He had a promising beginning to 2012 with an impressive three-length score over allowance/optional claiming foes on the turf at Gulfstream in early March, but some soft-tissue issues have him back on the shelf." http://www.wyattfirm.com/uploads/92/doc/bh17-soldat.pdf · 1684 days ago

Any word on Soldat?
On March 24, breezed a sharp half mile in 48.88 (2/12) on the turf at Palm Meadows.
: ) Soldat is back galloping at Palm Meadows but has yet to work, accordinly to Kiaran McLaughlin.

  • afleetalex · definitely gonna be tough to get a good price on him. hopefully they keep him at a mile or 1 1/16 and switch over to turf. · 1948 days ago
  • mdracing69 · Soldat worked again on Dec 31 - 3f in :36.94 (breezing) at Palm Meadows. · 1942 days ago
I have read that after the Florida Derby Soldat's veternarian spent a long time pulling Dirt out of the horses nose and eyes. I would still like this horse even if he had no excuse for losing. This to me seems like a valid reason why Soldat didn't peform as well as he did in the past.
If he stays within the group at a tight nit, at the 3/4 he has a chance w/ facing -off with the best: dial-in & Nehro. Outside is his best place on a placing turn, thewn spank him. He should challenge the rail horse an GO.. Once head-off to 400 yrds. take him to the railas a remeberance as young a...hee wil GO. as a winer for the Dreby.
  • dubby30 · if Dialed In can get a dream trip, unfortunately I see them turning for home and him having to go 8 or 9 wide to be able to get a clear run, while other horses with more tactical speed are busy on the front end or making their way to the front end. So with that in mind I have to leave Dialed In off of my exotics · 2184 days ago

  • CommaToTheTop · Well, thouth they ran 'well' before, I don't see Mo and Dialed In coming. On my derby 10 I'd go instead them with Pants on Fire and Nehro. · 2191 days ago
  • VagandoPorelmundo · I expect Uncle Mo to rebound, Dialed In will have a tough trip, one should hit the board, what do you think of PVal riding Commatothetop...I wish Corey would have rode him · 2190 days ago
Well the Factor is out now there's only 1 War Front-runner. Pun intended. I'm still looking for an excuse for Soldat's Fla Derby and haven't seen a legitmate one yet.

Any body know how many hands this little man is..? I'm just curios?
With two weeks to go before the draw he is probably my horse. I don't like the fact that he was fifth in his last out (Derby winners usually run 1st, 2nd, or 4th in their final prep) but in this unconventional year, anything is possible. I truly feel the Florida horses are the best of the bunch and for the value you'll probably get with this guy (10-1 or 12-1) he's too good to pass up. Plus, Coronado's Quest was a big favorite of mine. I wish he wasn't so quirky as a sophomore or he didn't have the injury before the Preakness of 98....probably would've won the thing that year.
Will Soldat even make the trip to the KD?
