The first foal by So You Think is here! A colt out of Soft Landing born at Bell View Park in Australia, described as 'a lovely colt' - https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/1075600_514375085299137_588051972_o.jpg
Not sure if any one is interested but there is a book out by Helen Thomas about SO You Think entitled The Horse That Bart Built.

  • AmbitiousD · Awesome! I'm going to have to pick up a copy. Thanks, Buckpasser · 1488 days ago
  • Buckpasser · AD and Mary. I don't know how good this book is. I just received it from Amazon today and it does look interesting. There is also an ebook. · 1488 days ago
Nice conformation!

  • rafirox · That fulfills my desire to not call a horse sexy, lol. · 1493 days ago
  • Mary Z. · Um, who's idea was this(mine)? I had noticed that he looks similar to Acclamation, but So You Think has sexier hair, lol. · 1493 days ago
I've been searching high and low for post-retirement news of my most favorite NZ bred, AUS trained horse. Finally here is some: though concerned he was injured, happy he is back to covering quality mares http://bloodstock.racingpost.com/news/bloodstock/so-you-think-returns-to-covering-duties/1223930/
  • likin sparks · Good to hear and thx for the link, I miss this guy was truly world class. Still remember his workout before the Breeders Cup at Churchill Downs it was very earl, dark and foggy and he ran the track like a bat out of hell. · 1496 days ago
I just watched an interesting piece newly uploaded on YouTube about So You Think that covers everything from his early days in Australia up to his recent arrival to breeding shed and everything in between. If So You Think was over-hyped as many suggest then I'll take a dozen over-hyped horses like him seven days a week and twice on Sunday!! Few horses in history have retired a 10-time G1 winner, and even fewer still that have accomplished it in 2 different hemispheres. So You Think took on the best the world had to offer on all 3 surfaces, and though he didn't always win, he never once disgraced himself. A class act if ever there was one, IMO.

Coolmore announces via Twitter that So You Think has got his first mare scanned in foal.
Back on Aussie soil, landing in Sidney yesterday along with champion sire Fastnet Rock. Wonder if he gave him any pointers?

  • travel_vic · Interesting, the last time I went to the track no one made lists but there were a heck of a lot of primutuel players there. · 1753 days ago
Enjoy your retirement SYT and thanks for some really good racing memories...among the top world class horses I've ever seen.
Bad news from Ballydoyle tweet: So You Think was found to be lame in his stable a short time ago and will not run in the Eclipse on Saturday.

  • AmbitiousD · So bummed about this one. I hope he is OK. I would love to see him race again before he is retired, but only if he is completely sound. · 1754 days ago
It hasn't been officially confirmed yet by Coolmore. But it looks as if the upcoming G1 Coral-Eclipse Stakes at Sandown on Saturday, July 7th will be the final race of So You Think's career before being retired and sent off to Coolmore's southern hemisphere operation for their upcoming breeding season. If that indeed the case, I'd really like to see So You Think go out a winner in the Coral-Eclipse. He's been a class act from Australia to Ireland. Great Britain to France. And America to Dubai. He's given a more than creditable accounting of himself in the world's biggest G1 stakes races on all 3 surfaces.
Great win in the prince if Wales, what a star,if Aidan OBrien trained him properly from the start he could have won much more,He admitted after this win he has started training him like Bart Cummings was back in Oz,almost wasted one of the great talents, anyway well done to all Australia is proud of you

  • switch360 · orfevre had an amazing 2011 but hasnt won this year just reckon SYT pips him on current form, but your right i wouldnt mind having a share in any of them 100 percent maybe · 1768 days ago
  • icyhotboo · A lot of us got criticized for including So You Think in our BCC selections even though we knew he wasn't at 100% we felt he fit nicely. What would he go off in that field of horses now about 4/5. · 1768 days ago
Enjoy yourself out there, my friend, and thank you for captivating us with all those great racing moments. Will he be retiring after this to stand in Australia?

  • switch360 · I think his last romp should be the cox plate,he made it his own in 2009-10 ,would be a fairytale send off · 1768 days ago
No doubt! he's a world class horse, I can remember last year watching this race and seeing Rewilding coming from dead last down the stretch to beat SYT, sadly that was the last win we would ever see from Rewilding.... }+{
Wonderful ride by the young O'Brien and classy win by SYT!
Probably deserve a higher ranking than Camelot at this stage of their careers
I reckon So You Think would v Frankel over 8 to 10 furlongs would be decent race, So you think can go 2miles but has a great turn of foot as well, food for thought anyway
awsome run in the tattersalls from the champ, looks to have recaptured top form
As much as I would love Royal Delta or Game On Dude to take this one home for the US, I think So You Think could be an absolute MONSTER on the synthetic footing. While the Dubai World Cup has been owned by price horses on the Tapeta, I don't think there has been a horse the caliber of So You Think in either of the past two World Cups. Add in the set up of the race, and I think So You Think wins the Dubai World Cup in style.
So easy today in the Gold Cup!
