  • jeanpaul.stannus · Sorry, I have stumbled onto this site late. Great to see some overseas interest in our best weight for age race. I had my money on 'Ocean Park' but the less said the better. And after 'Green Moon' didn't fire in the Caulfield Cup I left it out of the Melbourne Cup (worlds greatest race). The less said about that the better. · 66 days ago ·

I've been searching high and low for post-retirement news of my most favorite NZ bred, AUS trained horse. Finally here is some: though concerned he was injured, happy he is back to covering quality mares http://bloodstock.racingpost.com/news/bloodstock/so-you-think-returns-to-covering-duties/1223930/
  • likin sparks · Good to hear and thx for the link, I miss this guy was truly world class. Still remember his workout before the Breeders Cup at Churchill Downs it was very earl, dark and foggy and he ran the track like a bat out of hell. · 66 days ago ·

I just watched an interesting piece newly uploaded on YouTube about So You Think that covers everything from his early days in Australia up to his recent arrival to breeding shed and everything in between. If So You Think was over-hyped as many suggest then I'll take a dozen over-hyped horses like him seven days a week and twice on Sunday!! Few horses in history have retired a 10-time G1 winner, and even fewer still that have accomplished it in 2 different hemispheres. So You Think took on the best the world had to offer on all 3 surfaces, and though he didn't always win, he never once disgraced himself. A class act if ever there was one, IMO.

  • Murraylawson · To compare frankel to secretariat is outrageous!!! Secretariat holds a decade long track record compared to frankel who has race substandard fields and by the way... That 11 length win... No even ascot track record ! 'so you think ' would give this young guy a race worthy of the reputation! The connections I'm sure are to interested in his reputation and breeding value to take his abroad out of his comfort zone · 334 days ago ·

  • yukichan · Indeed, the Coral-Eclipse looks to be very interesting. It's been noted that no horse over the age of 6 has won this in last 100 years, so that stat would rule out Twice Over, Cityscape, City Style and Sri Putra. Nathaniel won't run if too course comes up too firm; Cogito won't go if there's any cut to the ground. The race and course looks to be shaping up for Farhh, plus he was supplemented. However, I would not dismiss Bonfire, who gets a 10 lbs advantage. · 323 days ago ·

It hasn't been officially confirmed yet by Coolmore. But it looks as if the upcoming G1 Coral-Eclipse Stakes at Sandown on Saturday, July 7th will be the final race of So You Think's career before being retired and sent off to Coolmore's southern hemisphere operation for their upcoming breeding season. If that indeed the case, I'd really like to see So You Think go out a winner in the Coral-Eclipse. He's been a class act from Australia to Ireland. Great Britain to France. And America to Dubai. He's given a more than creditable accounting of himself in the world's biggest G1 stakes races on all 3 surfaces.
Great win in the prince if Wales, what a star,if Aidan OBrien trained him properly from the start he could have won much more,He admitted after this win he has started training him like Bart Cummings was back in Oz,almost wasted one of the great talents, anyway well done to all Australia is proud of you
