Good looking colt. He has a realy nice closing kik. He came hard at the end only to lose to Soft Falling Rain. Raven's Pass colt out of a Distorted Humor mare, Gaudete, who is a decendent of Holy Bull. I think he could get better as distances increase. Distorted Humor is a top synthetic sire, and Raven's Pass was a turf/syntheit type horse. His pedigree doesn't look great for dirt, but I think a good performance in the UAE Derby, the connections should take a shot in Kentucky.

Going to the Derby, baby!

This one caught my eye after the UAE 2,000 Guineas Trial with his nice third-place finish a few weeks back with his nice American pedigree, and impressed again today in the UAE 2,000 Guineas with a strong, late-running second to undefeated champion Soft Falling Rain. He has a win and two seconds at a mile which is the farthest he's ran thus far, all three starts on synthetic tracks in Dubai and England, and his pedigree (Raven's Pass--Gaudete by Distorted Humor out of La Comete by Holy Bull) makes me think he'll appreciate even more added distance. Not among the early Triple Crown noms, but if a good performance in the UAE Derby convinces Sheik Hamdan to send him to Kentucky in May, Snowboarder will definitely be among the more intriguing prospects in the field!
