He overcame a P.P #13 draw to win the Godolphin Mile today. After setting the Meydan track record for a mile on tapeta in his previous start winning the G3 Firebreak Stakes. He left I Want Revenge in his wake. Beat him by more than 8 lengths. IWR ended up 10th in the Godolphin Mile. He looked incredible when he beat Musir in the Firebreak Stakes and set a Meydan track record for a mile on tapeta in that race. I put him up as the most likely winner of this year's Godolphin Mile that day. But with this extremely wide P.P draw, it could certainly make thing's very difficult for Skysurfers. I've been following this colt's progress in Great Britain. Since his return from an outstanding 2010 Dubai Racing Carnival at the new Meydan facility. Godolphin really has a good one in Skysurfers. In his first race at Meydan, on the Tapeta surface. Skysurfers blasted Mike De Kock's G1 winner, Eagle Mountain. Eagle Mountain is a very good colt himself. Having finished 2nd to Conduit in the 2008 Breeders Cup Turf, and also having raced very well in Hong Kong. Since his return to the UK. Skysurfers raced during the Goodwood festival. Where he was 3rd on turf in the totesport.com mile. Most recently, during the Ebor festival at York. Skysurfers ran a huge race. Also on turf. To just miss winning the Sky Bet City of York Stakes. He's set to race again on Saturday. Back on the all-weather surface at Kemptom Park in the Superior Mile. Where he'll be facing only once beaten, 3yr.old top European colt, Awzaan.
