I happened to meet this ol' man when I went to see Secretariat. Thank God for full metal screens! He lunged at me, biting the screen, scaring the crap out of me (wasnt ready for it). One of the rankest attitudes I'd ever encountered - made me wonder how they worked with him on a daily basis!

footlick · There was a story about Ribot where some Italians who worked with him in Italy went to see him here. When they saw how foul his temperment was, they asked the stud farm what they had done to him? The Americans were puzzled and said he has always been like this. Wasn't he like this in Italy? They said, no. It is interesting. Also, Sports Illustrated, I believe, did an article about thoroughbred breeding quite awhile ago. They happened to see Allez France being bred. She was famous for her temper and her intollerance of other horses and humans, as well as most animals. She was exrtremely immoblilzed as they were ready to breed her to a stallion. The employee of the stud farm said she was restrained much more than most. So the reporter asked they guy what would happen if they just let them out in the field to mate.
