  • MichaelPavelick · Bob Baffert's colt paying $10.40 to win in an allowance race! I had him in my virtual stable with notes saying: "Trained by Baffert. Looked ready for San Vicente, but told to hold off by Baffert because track record holder The Factor also trained by Baffert was ready to run" This last effort he rallied to win from last place after getting off slowly. He should be primed to go longer then 6 furlongs. · 352 days ago ·

  • footlick · You would have expected Sway Away to run past The Factor on the gallop out, but didn't happen. The Factor actually rebroke. That's why Baffert expects him to be able to stretch to at least 8.5 furlongs. Could have just folded up like the other pace horse, but kept going. Have to give him credit. If the race was longer, I don't think the fractions woud have been that taxing and that would have changed the whole complexity of the race · 461 days ago ·

Bob Baffert said he'll be at Oaklawn Park on Feb. 21 for the Southwest Stakes -- or at least he'll be represented by a horse in the Southwest. As for who that horse will be -- well, that decision will wait on Baffert's instincts, which are uncanny, and the horses, of course. Read More
