I have always liked Shackleford. I am glad he had such a great outcome at Churchill Downs on Saturday. He is a real game horse!
I love this horse. His goofy running style, white blaze, and pure, determined heart make me smile every time i watch him race. Great job buddy!

Congrats to I'll Have Another and Bodemeister, but this is one instance where I think the marquis event was overshadowed by a fantastic undercard performance. The stretch battle of Shack and Amazombie is what is going to really stamp this derby day in my head. I'm so excited to see him in the winners circle

Shackleford continued his preparations for the $400,000-added Churchill Downs (GII) on Kentucky Derby Day with a four furlong bullet work Saturday in :48 for trainer Dale Romans. Working after the renovation break when the track was rated as “muddy,” Shackleford recorded fractions of :12, :24 and :35.80 and galloped out five furlongs in 1:02.
At least he's doing a little better.
