Coolmore have a really neat picture just posted on their Facebook web-page of this dual 2009 Epsom and Irish Oaks winner standing together with her very first foal sired by the mighty Galileo!! Oh what potential that youngster must have, and he doesn't even know it yet? LOL.

I think losing Sariska to retirement. So early in her career. Is a huge loss for European turf racing, and racing in general. Few could argue that 2009 Breeders Cup F&M Turf winner, Midday, is racing as well as any turf filly or mare in the world right now. Having reeled off three consecutive G1 victories in 2010 in the G1 Blue Square Nassau Stakes at Goodwood. Followed by the G1 Yorkshire Oaks at York. The the G1 Prix Vermeille at Longchamp in France. Beating the likes of Stacelita, Antara, dual Oaks winner, Snow Fairy, Plumania, and previously unbeaten French Oaks winner, Sarafina. Midday has race in 7 G1 races in her career. Her record in those 7 G1's is 7-5-1-1. Sariska is the only filly who has bragging rights over Midday. Having beaten Midday all three times the two have faced each other on the racetrack. Sariska defeated Midday in both the 2009 Epsom and Irish Oaks. Plus, dealt her another defeat in the G3 2010 Middleton Stakes at York. Sariska had also held her own very well against the colt's, too. Finishing 3rd in the 2009 G1 Emirates Airline Champion Stakes and the 2010 G1 Investec Coronation Cup. Beaten a length by Fame and Glory. One of the best turf colt's in the world. Sariska was entered, and in the starting gate for both the 2010 Yorkshire Oaks and the 2010 Prix Vermeille. In both races, Sariska planted herself in the starting gate and refused to come out. Absolutely refused to race in the Yorkshire Oaks or the Prix Vermeille. Forcing her connections to retire this great 4yr.old filly. I so hated that this situation happened with Sariska. Because even though Sariska had beaten Midday 3 times in their careers. I don't think Sariska had ever faced Midday in this kind of form. With Midday absolutely in the best, peak form of her career. It would've been great to see if Midday would've been able to beat two dual Oaks winners in the same race in the Yorkshire Oaks. With Sariska being the 09' dual Oaks winner, and Snow Fairy being the 2010 dual Oaks winner.
