Ignore this horse at your own peril in the G1 Dubai World Cup. I see a lot similarities between Sanshaawes and Lizard's Desire, who came within a whisker of winning the Dubai World Cup for Mike De Kock in 2010, finishing 2nd by a nostril to Gloria De Campeao. Sanshaawes is absolutely race fit, clearly handles the distance and gets over the surface in good order, and he's been competitive at the highest level locally. He's coming off a wide trip where he covered 22 meters more than Prince Bishop, but was beaten on 1-1/4 lengths by Prince Bishop in the G1 Al Maktoum Challenge Rd. 3. He'll have the services of Christophe Soumillon in the race, arguably one of the top jockey's in racing anywhere in the world, and he's perfectly draw breaking from PP #5 of 16. I would expect Soumillon to have Sanshaawes forwardly placed in the race and when it comes time to go I think Sanshaawes will be the one on the front end they'll have to try and run down, IMO.

  • ILuvTurfRacing · @E P Taylor, I've always thought Ruler of the World is a talented horse, but the Epsom Derby form outside of the Derby has been very week, and frankly I always thought running Magician in this race and Ruler of the World in the Sheema Classic would've better suited him. But we'll see on Saturday, if I'm wrong it won't be the first time, LOL. · 264 days ago
  • Euro Trash · He looks to have a great chance. Soumillon does not hurt. Earlier I listed picks as him, Akeed Mofeed and African Story. Military Attack looks a huge threat also. · 264 days ago
