There is much fertile land in the Ireland region known as the “Golden Vale” that Sadler’s Wells called home since 1984. This fertility certainly was indicative of the illustrious stud career that would follow for Coolmore’s most prized stallion.Read More

  • MarcelloMarocco · Everything of Northern Dancer was Amazing :) Northern Dancer brought a Boom to the Breeding industry and when Coolmore Bought up a bunch of Dancer's Yearlings at Windfields Maryland facility that EP Taylor bought, and Built to cater Northern Dancer to the World. I read a while back that you could walk into Windfield's Stallion barn, and read the list of dignitaries who have purchased Northern Dancer offspring was astonishing at that time. The betting odds are sure to be tight when it comes to the “big three” in Saturday’s Belmont Stakes. Of course, I am speaking of Kentucky Derby winner, Animal Kingdom, runner-up, Nehro, and Preakness victor, Shackleford. Read More

  • xMystix · 12thCrown, so true! There is no sure lock for either. After all, we are only half way through the year. · 240 days ago ·

  • humphrey · My Doncaster bookie connection sent me this:I was at Cheltenham last weekend but managed to see Frankel win the group one 2 year old race at Newmarket very impressively. He's already odds-on for next season's Guineas, it will be interesting to see if he trains on to be a 3 year old. · 476 days ago ·

Sure, stallions go through good years and bad years with crops of foals, but particularly in terms of producing outstanding turf routers, Sadler’s Wells certainly earned his retirement in 2008, leaving his sons such as Galileo, Montjeu and the red-hot High Chaparral to admirably continue to pump out...Read More
