What the Horse Racing Nation is saying about Runflatout...

One year after his auspicious winning debut on Travers Day, Uncle Mo will attempt to steal the limelight once again when he makes his first start in more than four months in Saturday’s Grade 1 King’s Bishop. Read More
Trainer Bob Baffert had to settle for second and third in the afternoon’s supporting feature, the $150,000 Swaps Stakes.   Dreamy Kid, who was making his first start in blinkers and first in a graded race, shocked heavily-favored Coil to win by a head.   Trained by Neil Drysdale for owner-...Read More
Terrific weekend coming up from coast to coast…to coast. Because Calder makes three and we just love, love, love the Summit of Speed as an event. Sadly, it’s not what it was in its earlier renewals but considering it’s 2011, what is anymore? In fact, there are four two-turn events, which never was t...Read More
Baffert will be aiming for a record fifth victory in the Swaps when he saddles probable favorite Coil. Upstaging the 143rd running of the $1 million Belmont Stakes (Grade I), the most impressive performance by a three-year-old on Saturday came with Coil dispatching his five rivals as the 4-to-5 favorite in the $100,000 Affirmed Handicap (Grade III) at Hollywood Park. Read More
  • BrianZipse · I have always liked this one ... With the Triple Crown crew, shall we say struggling just a bit, it might be a new star of the division who takes over in the summer and fall. Coil is a very interesting candidate to do just that. · 350 days ago ·

For the second time in six years, trainer Bob Baffert won the $100,000 Affirmed Handicap with a son of Point Given.   Following in the steps of 2006 winner Point Determined, Coil successfully stretched out Saturday, defeating Runflatout and four others in the Grade III.   Perfect in three ...Read More

Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert said Sunday that he planned to enter a formidable duo of Awesome Patriot and Coil in the $100,000 Affirmed Handicap Saturday. A return to sprinting proved the winning move for 6-5 favorite Bench Points in the $100,000 Lazaro S. It has not reached a crisis point, but trainer John Sadler is winless with his last 19 starters in stakes, dating back to Cozi Rosie’s victory in the Grade 2 Buena Vista Handicap at Santa Anita in February. In the nearly three months since that race, Sadler has had nine second-place finishes in stake...Read More
Syndicated handicapper Bob Ike can be forgiven for a bias favoring Flightofalifetime in the $100,000 Grade III Lazaro Barrera Memorial Stakes, a seven-furlong sprint for 3-year-olds here next Sunday. Ike is also a managing partner with Brett Lindenbaum in Summit Racing, co-owner of the chestnut Flo...Read More
Don't look now, but the 2011 Kentucky Derby is only ten weeks away. New contenders are rising fast, while the pretenders are falling by the wayside. • dipak1 · 2011 kentucky derby is over, i am very disappointed with jockey Julien Leparoux piloting Dialed In in a very sluggish way left him 50 lengths behind the leaders without realizing that it is not a ordinary race, it is world famous Kentucky Derby and it is not a play ground, no horses yet own this kind of big races with a very big field and fast running horses ,own the race. it is kind ok joke to me that Leparoux play today in the derby field. it looks like he did'nt care too much about the race. shame on him! · 386 days ago ·

  • icyhotboo · dipak1 it's almost impossible for a deep closer like DI to close on a tepid pace as shown today. If someone had told me the early fractions would be that slow I would have laughed. Leparoux is one of the best but he also needs a horse and a deep closer NEEDS a fast pace so the front runners come back to him as well as him gaining ground. · 386 days ago ·

  • icyhotboo · He had a perfect trip(understatement),was in against sprinters with the exception of two who made their first start of 2011,Jaycito and Awsome Patriot ,how could he look bad? Still don't know where he's at as CTTT could only bring him a mile before he was through. That left him even better than "loose on the lead" as the only horse in the race who could get the distance of 1 1/16 mile.He looked good but others still have to be heard from. · 442 days ago ·
