  • buzzcat859 · He could win sat. This field came up with a couple of japan horses(2@11),couple of hong kong horses(8@14),and Michael tabor has the 12(ireland). Take rtg 1st@2nd in exactas with the #s I just mentioned · 1126 days ago
  • amino998 · Keying RTG will assure underlaid prices in the U S pools, buzzcat, but maybe that will keep you out of the IRS line… LOL · 1126 days ago
RTG drew gate 16...I don't think a winner for the Dubai World Cup has ever come from there...

  • Euro Trash · I just checked in before I left and saw this so I will answer before going out. They do tend to change the content whether they want it to retain more moisture or less. They can add fibers to it from what I have read in interviews with Michael Dickenson. But the reason the course is not the same during racing compared to when they do their gallops is the heat. The hotter their weather becomes during the day before racing the more tiring the surface becomes. I personally think that Goi Ponti ran great races there considering he probably was not fond of the racing surface. For that reason, I still cannot back Ron The Greek without some turf or synthetic form, with graded turf form being my number one criteria. Have a good night. · 1127 days ago
  • Northport · I read something similar to that as well, EP. I remember Baffert saying that Game On Dude skipped over the track in the mornings, but it was very taxing on him (obviously) at night. With a track that waxy and deep you'd have to assume that it is nice and firm in the morning after cooling down all night. By the time the meets start at 7pm-ish local time, it has had the sun beating down on it all day. The fact that it is black doesn't help much either, I imagine it would be blistering in the middle of the day (not like anyone is on it at that time anyway) · 1127 days ago
Pat Cummings ‏@DubaiRaceNight 33s Just confirming for all to know - Ron The Greek will run AS Ron The Greek in the World Cup, not his Saudi-only name of Wattani.

  • Sullivan · Keep in mind the majority of those starts were by Gio Ponti and Royal Delta, neither of whom took to the surface and they distorted the information somewhat. · 1133 days ago

I can't believe they sold him. Did they need the money? Very sad to loose him.

  • buzzcat859 · i agree cedar but RTG was owned by 4 diiffrent ownwers. they had to take the money do u or anyone know what the King paid for him??? The only way his former owners would be Sick is if he won the World Cup for 10 million · 1150 days ago
  • Cedar · True, but the previous owners weren't just selling a race horse they were selling him as a breeding prospect. Since the amount was undisclosed, I'm sure they received more than a fair price for him. · 1149 days ago
Nice win for him today!

  • travel_vic · especially in baseball since the real world championships are usually won by teams from Asia or the Carribean · 1165 days ago
Wattani... Sounds like a rice dish from India.
It's great to see him still racing, and he is obviously still in great form, but something makes me sad knowing that he will only race Wattani. I'm gonna miss hearing Ron The Greek
Pat Cummings ‏@DubaiRaceNight 17h Ron The Greek drawn 9 of 18 for 1-turn 9F hnd'cp in Riyadh [Equestrian Club] on Sat. Carries h'weight of 62kgs (136.6 lbs) Camilo Ospina (31%) rides
Pat Cummings ‏@DubaiRaceNight 9m Ron The Greek scheduled to run Sat. in Saudi Arabia, over 1 1/8m on dirt, his first start there. Runs under the name Wattani (My Country)
Confirmed that has has been sold to King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the ruler of Saudi Arabia. He will stay in training in early 2014, with possible targets including the King’s Cup in Saudi Arabia in February and/or the Dubai World Cup in March. However, he is not staying with Bill Mott, and will be leaving for Saudi Arabia any day now

  • tmallios1 · Take a look at Protocal in the 3rd.Ran a very nice race to a serious horse in March.Sherrifs has been on fire,if not him then the Clement runner Mr.Oleary.He was tipped out to me in the spring as a very fast and serious horse. He ran up against the killer firster Eastwood, who sold for $800K after 2 starts. He was scheduled ro run on Whitney day, then scratched.Came back and faced Chad Brown bear Bakken, note first time he is running right back.Might be sign he is getting healthy. Has huge speed. If can shake loose, will be hard to run down. · 1266 days ago

Out of the Classic with a quarter crack.
Fired a very sharp bullet this morning with a 1/2 mile move in :47.14 and the last 3/8th in :34.84.
on October 19, Ron the Greek worked 4F at Belmont Park on Fast Dirt in :48.66 b finishing 6/32.
On October 12, Ron the Greek breezed 4F in 47:46 (3/34) at Belmont Park.
What a surprise but Kudos to this horse for proving many, many wrong.. Love it.
win was way more impressive than mucho macho man. I don't trust MMman and I wont bet him. Ron the Greek has done it all of the US of A and he had a perfect trip and he looks the form for maybe not the classic by any other breeders cup race.
