Experiencing Arlington Million 2011 in person is something I'll never forget. As the day went by, the crowd grew by thousands. Early in the day, A beautiful blue sky with cotton like clouds greeted the fans who entered the track. But, as we got deeper into the race card, the skies opened up, and the...Read More

  • Winplacsho · I haven't been to all the top level tracks, but Arlington is at the top of my list for sure. I made it to the 2002 BC & the Arlington Millions won by Chester House & Marlin. I was there last summer too, but that polytrack turns me off. · 972 days ago ·
  • Eclipse First · Nice job, Scott--I am fortunate to have AP as my home track, and Million weekend is always a highlight --here's hoping Gov. Quinn signs the gambling bill to give us slots and also that the BC comes back again! · 971 days ago ·
They came, they saw, they conquered and now they’re leaving – returning to Ireland’s Shannon Island on a Lufthansa equine charter out of Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport Sunday night.   Grade I Arlington Million XXIX winner Cape Blanco, owned by Mrs. Fitriani Hay, Derrick Smith, Mrs. John...Read More
  • medlocke · Not really sure what race Aidan O'Brien might be considering for Cape Blanco next? Or if perhaps he may give Cape Blanco a break now after coming to America and winning dual G1's? I know O'Brien has Await The Dawn ready for the G1 Juddmonte International Stakes at York on Wednesday, and he has Australian star, So You Think, getting prepared for the G1 Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown in early September. Cape Blanco won the Irish Champion Stakes in 2010 quite impressively. I'm not sure if O'Brien might take another shot at the Arc De Triomphe with Cape Blanco or not? But I am quite certain that we're likely to see him at Churchill Downs for the Breeders Cup in November. Given the success he had in America, and given how well he handled the travel coming over from Ireland. He's got a win and your in slot for the Breeders Cup Turf by virtue of his Arlington Million win on Saturday. I doubt Aidan O'Brien will squander the opportunity to run Cape Blanco in that race given his entry fee and travel expenses to come back to America will be paid for. · 975 days ago ·
  • mrsmaryzinke · How long will it take for the Lasix to leave Cape Blanco's system? Not really sure how to seed the clouds to ensure soft or yielding turf for the BC races, lol. · 975 days ago ·
Stacelita rode the yielding turf rail to win the $750,000 Grade I Beverly D. Stakes at Arlington Park, giving owner Martin Schwartz his record third win in the race.Read More

  • Winplacsho · Though Burn the Mortgage looked nice winning the 3rd race, the 1/2 brother of Keertana, Monastic, had a horrible trip. Look for him to break his maiden next out. · 977 days ago ·
  • Winplacsho · Also, think about putting Bonnie (#5 in the first race) on your stable mail. She ran a nice 3rd and took alot of money early on for being 12-1 morning line. · 977 days ago ·
Horses for Saturday’s 29th running of the Arlington Million, 21st renewal of the $750,000 Beverly D. and 35th edition of the $400,000 Secretariat Stakes went through tune-ups of varying intensity Thursday morning during training hours at Chicago’s suburban oval.   Most impressive among them was...Read More

The always engaged River Jetez, second in the 2011 Dubai Duty Free (G1) and Singapore Airlines International Cup (G1), is expected to contest the Etihad Falmouth Stakes (G1) on July 8, and then potentially set her sights on America.  The Mike De Kock-trainee could aim for the Beverly D (G1), re...Read More
  • medlocke · Frankly, I didn't think the G1 Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket was the greatest choice of races for Mike De Kock to have sent his top class race-mare, River Jetez to, because I don't believe she's ideally suited by just a mile? She did manage to finish a respectable 5th of 11 in the Falmouth Stakes, beaten by about 3 lengths by Timepiece. But River Jetez was certainly at the top of her game at 9+f when narrowly beaten by Presvis in the G1 Dubai Duty Free at Meydan, and beaten by only a head by Gitano Hernando over 10f in the G1 Singapore Airlines International Cup. I would certainly expect to see a much better race out of River Jetez than she ran in the Falmouth Stakes next month when Mike De Kock sends her to America to Arlington Park for either the G1 Beverly D. Stakes over 1-3/16 or the G1 Arlington Million over 1-1/4. TJMO. · 1012 days ago ·
