What the Horse Racing Nation is saying about Ridan...

I spend at least 10 minutes everyday looking for Ridan photos on line. My two favorite photos were in SI from years ago. One from the Flamingo Stks and the other is the Bluegrass stakes. I have found about 20 that I have purchased over the last 5 years
I've edited races before but I can't seem to get there now. If anyone can the time of the 1962 Travers Stakes should be 2:01.3
It remains one of the most iconic images of the heat of battle in 20th century thoroughbred racing. The spectacular head-on view of the stretch duel between Ridan and Greek Money in the 1962 Preakness Stakes was captured almost by accident 50 years ago, on a scorching hot May afternoon by Joseph A. ...Read More

  • Curlin1234 · I watched this race for the very first time in November after hearing about it ever since I started reading up on horse racing as a kid. I was astounded! Horses that evenly matched and determined is a one-in-a-million shot, such a fantastic race! · 837 days ago ·

My all time favorite Travers winner was Point Given and I remember being on the backstretch at Saratoga when he arrived. I watched him get off the van and just felt like I was in the presence of greatness just by watching this amazing individual. · 835 days ago ·
