What the Nation is saying about Ria Antonia...

Vic- How was this filly voted ahead of On Rainbow Bridge and Paladin Bay for Canadian 2 year old Filly?....she won a maiden at woodbine and that was all, the others won 3 and 4 stakes at 2 respectfully. Curious to know your opinion on that one.

  • AnneShaw · Thanks a bunch, Tom. Will be happy to contact her. As to my remark in the last 2 weeks I saw 2 inquiries disputed where there were actual bumps. Just not a fan of the subjectiveness of these rulings. · 1 day ago ·
  • tmallios1 · Anne that is all most of these takedowns are. Very subjective in every sense. Maybe horse racing should take a page from Major league sports. Unless there is absolutely positive visual proof. There is no take down. · 1 day ago ·

In a scintillating gate to wire performance, the Simon Callaghan-trained Fashion Plate, with Gary Stevens up, took Saturday’s Grade I, $400,000 Santa Anita Oaks by 1 ¼ lengths over favored Ria Antonia and thus stamped herself as the West Coast’s best hope to win the prestigious Kentucky Oaks at Chur...Read More

  • tmallios1 · From all the inside talk on how this filly is training. Even money on the toe board might be deemed a value bet. Look out for Amino if the Hippodrome is taking action on the race that day. Then 3/5 might be a safer bet (D) · 15 days ago ·

A 9 1/2-length romp by Winchell Thoroughbreds’ Untapable (#23) in last week’s Rachel Alexandra (Grade III) at Fair Grounds made her a rising star on the road to the 140th running of the $1 million Longines Kentucky Oaks (GI), and the authority of that victory left such a strong impression that the d...Read More

  • tmallios1 · Like i always say. If people had a clue about placing horses they might be dangerous. Even odder was Mcpeek putting his quality filly in this race. Why anyone would give a prep race to a quality filly like this,on a cement based racing surface is beyond my realm of comprehension. Like i mentioned,Todd really liked his filly. I was hoping with Rosalind in the race,i might get value. But the odd thing is ,the money that was bet on Charlie. I assume she had to be a clocker tip.Prior to her maiden win ,when they told me about her. They said she was looking good on dirt and Turf. Clockers hold alot of powere with their clients. I think they are clueless, but thats just me. · 47 days ago ·

  • tmallios1 · Dani again i disagree. All time tells me is what TIME to wake up. What TIME to do this and what TIME to do that. If TIME is so diffinitive and the variant is not important. What happens if a surface is lightning fast and a horse goes 6f in 1.08 with the splits as you like to call them ,22/22/24 . That would be spectacular. What if on a dead race track a horse goes in 1.11 with splits of 23/23/25 . Both horses go wire to wire.Without the variant of the day,and you showed somebody who the more impressive horse was.I will give you 1 guess as to who they might come up with. In reality the lslower horse ran faster. You also say that it is not affected by energy. Like i told you, final times ,split times or the N.Y.Times. They are all irrelevant. It is how much effort it takes you to get there. So apparently it is taking to much TIME for me to convince you and you to convince me. I'd love to hear your response,i could care less if you are right or wrong. Just how i look at things.Yet not to be mistaken as arrogant, somehow deep inside,i am in the right. · 50 days ago ·
  • dani.pugh · Tell me where i said variant is not important? I NEVER did. I said variant is dependent upon time which is true. You proved that point of mine in your fifth sentence. You know the variant will be high or low because of the time. I also said it is dependent upon the splits, which you proved again, because like i said the pace tell us through the time. Time tells us if the track is slow or fast, so if you see a fast time on a slow track, with a fast pace behind it, you know darn well it is fast. You know the variant because you know the time. Without the time you would not know the pace nor would you know the variant. Tell me how you would be able to come up with numbers for variant, pace figures, or final race figures? You can't. · 49 days ago ·

  • Mary Z. · Floridaf, Untapable must have had some kind of bad trip in the BC Juvenile fillies. I didn't see it live because Jessie had to buy shoes, no kidding, but may be best that we missed it. Then I gave her a race to get over that, so yesterday she was good again. · 52 days ago ·

@kaitlinfree1 Yes, she is still on target for Derby Day. Her connections want to start her off a debut against fillies, a smarter choice in my opinion
