What the Horse Racing Nation is saying about Rewilding...

Frankel was named world champion racehorse on Tuesday when he topped the World Thoroughbred Rankings (WTR) for 2011.The spectacular Henry Cecil-trained colt, who will take his nine-race unbeaten record into 2012 as a four-year-old, was awarded a rating of 136 - the same as Sea The Stars in 2009.Aust...Read More

  • MarcelloMarocco · Frankel won 4 Group 1's(vs the BEST at this distance) and a Group 3 at the start of the year. Dross won one GR1 and a Listed stakes......but also finished behind ( A sprinter) Jackson's bend in the GR3 Skip away....this horse is not of the same Caliber. Frankel beat how many multiple GR1 winners?.......beating a sorry Dirt field in the last Classic doesn't propel you to the top... · 110 days ago ·

You were my pick big guy as I followed your career over the past year...this is the hardest apart about being a fan of our equine athletes. Some are with us far too briefly...
My condolences to rewildings family. He was something to behold and he was very special.

Rest in Peace, Rewilding.
RIP Rewilding!! You had already stamped your class on the sport with win's over Joshua Tree in the Great Voltigeur Stakes at York last season, and against both Redwood in the G1 Sheema Classic and So You Think in the G1 Prince of Wales's Stakes this season. This is such a tragedy, and such a huge loss to the sport. There's no doubt in my mind that Rewilding's best racing still laid ahead of him!!

  • rossington · I think Ryan Moore committed for home just a tad too early on So You Think in the Prince of Wales, much like Tom Queally did on Frankel in the St James's Palace. But it's not an excuse for So You Think. Because Rewilding is an outstanding horse in his own right. He's definitely a legit G1 horse himself. He ran 3rd behind Workforce in last year's Epsom Derby. He won the G2 Great Voltigeur Stakes at York against a tough field that included Joshua Tree. Who came out of that race to win 2 G1 races. Then he beat a very tough G1 Sheema Classic field in Dubai. Yes sir, a very legit G1 horse. My only concern for Rewilding was that I thought 10f might be a trip too short for him. Being that his biggest career successes to date had all come over 12f. But not a bit of it. A great race where 2 of the world's best on turf came to the fore!! · 347 days ago ·

REWILDING (Mahmood Al Zarooni/Frankie Dettori) made it six from six for favourites on World Cup night and brought up a Godolphin treble with a clear victory in the Dubai Sheema Classic. The four-year-old was sent wide on the turn by jockey Frankie Dettori - who also brought up his double on the night...Read More
  • medlocke · I thought Godolphin would likely go with Mastery as their #1 horse in the Sheema Classic off of his very impressive G1 Hong Kong Vase win at Sha Tin back in December. That said, Rewilding turned out to be an equally great choice for the race. Definitely the best 3yr.old prospect in their stable during 2010 season. Rewilding ran 3rd behind Workforce in the G1 Epsom Derby back in June, and won the G2 Great Voltigeur Stakes quite impressively back in August at York. Rewilding then went to Doncaster for the G1 St Leger in September as race favorite. But faded to 6th in that race after having difficulty staying the 1-3/4 trip of the St. Leger. But this colt has always been at this best fresh off of a lay-off. I thought this year's Sheema Classic pointed out something I've said more than once since November. That this year's Breeders Cup Turf was the weakest renewal of that race in the history of the event. 2nd place finisher, Champs Pegasus finished 12th of 14 in the Sheema, and the winner, Dangerous Midge, finished stone motherless last. · 427 days ago ·
