Apart, the 5-2 morning line favorite in Saturday's Grade 3 William Donald Schaefer Memorial at Pimlico, tries to end a 4-race losing streak dating back to last November.   Al Stall Jr.'s consistent son of Flatter began his roll at Louisiana Downs last summer and after winning the Super Derby an...Read More

  • ArturoLaguna · Mr. Zipse: If memory serves me right, Tackleberry beat rule in Gulfstream last month. Granted Rule won the Delta million in his 2 year campaign, but that was very soft company and a solitary victory does not make 1 proven in the bullring configuration. JUst like in his previous 2-3 starts, Rule will be a bridesmaid once more. So, I'm picking Tackleberry and Game on Dude exact box. Looks like the steeplechase thing didn't pan out so Researcher returns from an 11-month hiatus and is back to flat racing at Charles Town (8th race) on Saturday night. If things go well look for him to attempt at CT Classic three-peat for new trainer Neil Morris.
Following his repeat triumph in the 2010 Charles Town Classic, Researcher’s new owner, Zohar Ben-Dov’s Kinross Corp., decided to send him off to a new career in the steeplechase ranks despite his victory over some of the nation’s top handicap horses. As it turns out, that wasn’t the only surprising t...Read More

To the average person handicapping the $1 million Charles Town Classic, Researcher would hardly seem to qualify as an underdog. The gelding by Two Start won the inaugural running of the 1 1/8-mile race a year ago and though he will face top older horses like Gone Astray, Acting Zippy, Awesome Gem, a...Read More

Saturday's $100,000 Queens County H (G3) is the final graded event of the New York season and the only one contested over Aqueduct's inner dirt during the track's fall meet.
