Eight sophomore colts have been entered in Saturday’s Grade 3, $100,000 Discovery Handicap, a 1 1/8-mile race at Aqueduct Racetrack that could serve as a springboard to even bigger things in 2012.   The 7-5 morning-line favorite for the race is Redeemed, who in his most recent start got up by a...Read More
Stay Thirsty was my original top ranked colt when I first started tracking the current three-year-old class almost a year ago. He was a bit slow to develop this year but started coming into his own with a place finish in the G1 Belmont Stakes, followed by back-to-back Saratoga tallies in the G2 Jim ...Read More

  • DeadHeat · Tim, go back aways in some of my blogs :) Said there was a good possiblility he could take hold of the division since the top races were on his stomping grounds and his breed sugests he would get better as he gets older and more distance. · 261 days ago ·

  • icyhotboo · J W Blue is a deep closer this track is killing these kind of horses. I would say not on the board I like Rattlesnake Bridge in the exotics. Coil is the key to the race as you said , can he get the distance if he does then it'd him and ST if not it's ST.Shackleford, and I'm going to put in a tri and super that way with 4 under. I make a lot of plays Mike because a race usuallydoesn't go the way you handicap it on paper but Baffert is not going to run his horse against the bias. For me Stay Thirsty keeps getting better so I'll stay with him, thow insome exotics.GL · 263 days ago ·

  • MichaelPavelick · CauseForConcern, I just put Brilliant Speed in my virtual stable, and will be getting regular updates about him. I'm wondering if the connections shied away from the Travers because of the track bias against closers? · 263 days ago ·

Stay Thirsty, the morning-line favorite for Saturday’s 142nd running of the Grade 1, $1 million Travers, was reported to be all set for the 1 ¼-mile race by trainer Todd Pletcher, a sentiment that was precisely echoed Friday morning by the connections of Haskell Invitational winner Coil, Preakness v...Read More

The Grade 1 Haskell was the deepest 3yo graded route of the summer with the Preakness and Belmont winners, and my number one ranked (since 6-29) 3yo Coil proved that his Swaps defeat was nothing more than a slight detour. • mrsmaryzinke · U1 (unaddressable one), I would say she can be anything except a sprinter. She might even do well on turf, but why change her surface? I have loved her since her maiden win, but I don't mind sharing her, lol. I think she just didn't get the proper ride in the Suncoast Stakes, her only bad race. Delicious wasn't listed as an official comment for her latest work out, so I'll include it now. I can't wait to see her run at Saratoga. · 306 days ago ·
