Tweeted by J.J. Hysell: "Rags To Riches colt by Henrythenavigator, named Admirer, now in training with David Simcock; could make debut at Nottingham on Friday."

  • jonquil · Yeah, I think she was bred to Galileo again this year. Her previous Galileo colt in training with Andre Fabre is named Auguste Rodin. · 428 days ago
  • yukichan · Admirer finished 9/12. She dwelt at gate and ran very green according to her chart: Dwelt, ran green and soon well off the pace in last pair, shaken up and very modest headway 3f out, soon no headway. · 428 days ago
Admirer (Henrythenavigator) is the second foal by Rags to Riches, and the first to make it to the races. He just ran way back in his career debut at Windsor.
I loved her Belmont win!
Tüm zamanların en iyi 250 kısrağı sıralamasında kesinlikle daha üst sıralarda olmalı...
Give a break...look at her record..look at her run against Curlin....look at her stamina. Are we a nation of sprinters?

  • Mike in SB · I think Rags to Riches had the potential to be one of the all time great fillies if she had not been injured and retired in her 3 year old year. Anyway winning the Oaks and Belmont is a pretty special accomplishment and if Royal Delta wins the Ladies Classic for the third time this year, that will be a major accomplishment as well. · 651 days ago
  • kay.robinett · I think the key word is potential, Mike in SB. I agree with you. She could have been one of the great ones. Only seven lifetime starts, two of them in MSW. Won two classics in the KY Oaks and Belmont. If she had stayed sound and in form, I think a lot of people would think more highly of her. In this era of super mares/fillies she falls back in popular opinion because of her brief career. · 651 days ago
travel vic i would agree with you except the belmont stakes is the most difficult to win let alone a filly or female. its probably the only time horses even run the mile and a half even when females are winning the preakness they tend to be fading desperately trying to hang on let alone head to head strech run with curlin and beating him the final furlong

  • dani.pugh · I never said it was easy. I said "it may be one of the easiest to win." Based on distance and the natual pace at the distance it is easier than a middle distance 9-10f race. They are run much faster throughout, where a race at 12f is run at a slower, steadier pace. That pace is what makes it easier for a speed horse/stalker to win. Again never said it wasn't easy, I was referring to the distance being the easiest to run of the 3 jewels. The Belmont itself is made as tough as it is due to the fatigue many horses who have run in all three races are feeling at the time they make it to the Belmont starting gate. · 664 days ago
  • travel_vic · I would wager that more colts lost out on the Triple based upon the third leg than the other two. Pace? It is the intrinsic energy apportion mechanisms of the colt. Old Hard Spun was an EASY write off and wuld be if his profile came up. ONLY if a colt gets the lead, can slow down and then PICK UP AGAIN LATE, does a very slow pace help a colt that cannot distribute according to a 66.8 to 67 % median. · 663 days ago
I don't understand why rags to riches isn't up there with the greatest females when the Belmont is the toughest of the Triple Crown to win. what is amazing about Rags to Riches like Zenyatta are strong the final furlong alot of times with females against males they are barely dolding on at the end and if the race was another furlong they would have lost (Like rachel's races against males). i would put rags to riches just be hind genuine risk and they only horses I would put infront of genuine risk are zenyatta ruffian ladies secret and rachel alexandra in that order..
What's the latest on her 2010 Henry the Navigator colt? I heard that he was "believed to be outstanding."
Just read that she foaled a colt by Galileo this year and was bred to him again. Talk about a horse with a regal pedigree.
I don't understand how this filly can't be rated in the top five to top ten fillies of all time after she beat Curlin in the Belmont. Especially after breaking from the gate on her knees and showing deep gamenes down the stretch by not letting Curlin get around her. It's a mystery to me why she is not ranked near the top. Just re watch the Belmont race and look at her performance. It was a incredible performance!

  • cocoa2 · RTR is a great filly, but we already have a top 10. (in no order) Zenyatta, Ruffian, Go For Wand, Miesque, Makybe Diva, Sunline, ... · 965 days ago
  • footlick · Zarkava, Allez France, Dahlia · 965 days ago
she never gets the accolades other female horses have received. she won the toughest of the 3 classics over a future hoy curlin. she ripped off 4 straight G1 victories in the process.
I love this horse! One of the best fillies ever! There aren't too many fillies to run in big races like the Triple Crown races, but that didn't stop her. Rags to Riches showed what girls could do in the 2007 Belmont Stakes! Maybe next year a filly could race in a Triple Crown race, or even win one, or even win the Triple Crown! I don't think that's ever been done! :)
Rags To Riches started the filly/mare domination by beating Curlin
she's a grand daughter of seatle slew and a great gand daughter+great great great neese of secretariat
It's such a shame Rags to Riches wasn't able to complete her sophomore and 4-yera-old campaigns, I think she would have been one of the top ten hands down.
Set The stage for Rachel and Zenyatta. Beat Curlin.
