  • medlocke · If Jerry Hollendorfer is genuinely serious about running Blind Luck against the boys in this year's Breeders Cup Classic, instead of taking her to the Ladies Classic, then I think this is a very smart decision on his part. Better to see how she'll handle 10f against the colt's in something like the Pacific Classic or the Hollywood Gold Cup. Doing that should give Hollendorfer a good sense of where his filly would stand in the Classic division. Watch the replay without bias and you'll see VERY clearly that Twirling Candy was basically a ping pong ball off Game On Dude & Setsuko, hitting both horses twice. That was a pitiful ride by Joel Rosario, Twirling Candy went into that stretch with nothing left and showed it by how he staggered into both horses.   • medlocke · It's a real shame that Global Hunter took a misstep galloping out after winning the American Handicap and broke his ankle. He gave a very solid effort to get up and win this race. IMO. It appears on the replay that he just took a bad step right when he was starting his gallop out after the wire. Similar to what happened to the filly Eight Belles.
