Has been retired

  • northport · Nevermind, Emcee has been transferred to Mahmood Al Zarooni, so the only G1 winner from last year that McLaughlin still has in his barn is Dance Card · 1477 days ago

horseracinghl ‏@horseracinghl Kiaran McLaughlin says Eclipse finalist Questing is still in Lex. recovering from having chip out of rt hind ankle but plans are still to bring her back to race this year.
So does the 3rd place finish of My Miss Aurelia in the La Brea-G1 lock-up the Eclipse Award for Questing?
  • Mary Z. · The 3yo filly Eclipse will be decided between Questing, Coaching Club American Oaks and Alabama winner, also won an optional claiming race at 1 mile over $25 thousand dollar older females, or Lady of Shamrock's overall record. · 1521 days ago
  • northport · many voters have already submitted their votes prior to the La Brea, so to them the result of MMA would not have changed their minds.... so yes · 1521 days ago
Nothing on her, put I'll finish my picks tomorrow, I'm beat.
@DRFGrening: "Questing had chip removed from hind ankle. Will rehab in Lexington, but she is expected to race next year, according to Kiaran."
  • travel_vic · Horses run on the bones homlogous to our FINGERS, What we might call their knee is really the metacarpal/phalangeal bone joint in them so thier "ankle" is much more proximal to the body. · 1557 days ago
  • platano.lajara · hope she come back becasue she could do big things next yr · 1557 days ago
Cant wait to meet her!
Can someone please explain to me how Questing Is better then MMA ? But yet MMA finished beat her twice and had a great performance In the BC ?

  • cocoa2 · Questing would not have beat MMA in a head duel any day. · 1566 days ago
3yo champ IMO
Sending positive thoughts and prayers for Questing. Poor mama :( What a heart attack for her people.
Reports on Twitter state Questing suffered a contusion forcing her left eye to close.

DRF reports that Questing is okay after being pulled up during the Ladies Classic. She has no injuries but special blood tests were ordered. She'll ship to Darley Farm in Kentucky on Monday for a rest and further examination.
Really sad for this Hard Spun filly. Hope she is ok.

when did she become retired?
Questing, preparing for the BC Ladies' Classic, breezed 5f in :59.80 (2/3) at Greentree Training Center on 10-12.
"McLaughlin said the deep and dry nature of the Parx main track and the fact Questing conceded seven pounds to My Miss Aurelia compromised his filly. McLaughlin said that Simon Crisford, the racing manager for Godolphin Stable, texted that “seven pounds is equivalent to 3 1/2 lengths over that [1 1-16-mile] distance if you agree with the handicap scale that has existed for more than 200 years.”  “I agree with it for sure,” McLaughlin said. “So we have a seven-pound switch in our favor next time with her. We have others to be concerned about.”

  • icyhotboo · I have my own opinion on weight but let me give you Angel Cordero Jr. opinion. "Anything under 126lbs has no effect, after that point you can feel it in the way the horse moves." this is not an exact quote but very close. this is on U-Tube if anyone wants to see it. · 1615 days ago
  • Sullivan · I prefer his desrciption of the '78 JCGC, but all the talk to Cordero videos are great. · 1615 days ago
I know she wasn't placed on the rail, and I though she blew the turn coming into the stretch. MMA was the deserving winner today, but the most I took from the race is Questing still has some maturing to do. I can't wait to see her at her max
  • Floridaf · Questing did not blow the turn. Ortiz deliberately had Questing go wide in order to float MMA out wide, as well. · 1615 days ago
