Great to see Pure Fun back in the mix. She was a victim of that train wreck in the Kentucky Oaks and was dead last (4 or 5 lengths behind Princess of Sylmar), but eventually caught up and finished an impressive 6th. Considering the 5 who finished in front of her either are or were once considered among the best of a highly rated 3 YO filly class, that's extraordinarily impressive especially considering how much ground she had to make up.

G1 Hollywood Starlet heroine Pure Fun returned to the worktab in style. She posted a 3F bullet work in 36:20 (1/13) at Churchill Downs. The work was her first since the discovery of a small chip in her right ankle back in May.
Trainer Kenny McPeek announced that Kentucky Oaks 6th place finisher Pure Fun will be out indefinitely with an ankle issue. It is not yet known whether the filly will require surgery.
