Vosburgh Invitational winner Private Zone, prepping for the Donn at Gulfstream Park, worked five furlongs for Doug O’Neill in 59.80 with regular rider Martin Pedroza aboard.
Vosburgh Invitational winner Private Zone worked six furlongs Sunday in a bullet 1:12 under regular rider Martin Pedroza. Runner-up in the Cigar Mile in his most recent start, Private Zone is scheduled to run in the Grade I, $500,000 Donn Handicap at 1 1/8 miles at Gulfstream Park on Feb. 8. “We liked the way he galloped out,” said Leandro Mora, assistant to trainer Doug O’Neill. “We kind of agreed with our man main in Florida, (Racing Manager) Rene Douglas, to run in the Donn. It’s a longer distance than he’s been running, but he ran well in the Cigar Mile and now we have no options. Mucho Macho Man won the Breeders’ Cup (Classic), so we figured let’s try the Donn. Private Zone and Mucho Macho Man are by the same sire (Macho Uno).”

  • ssinn96 · Whoever will win the Donn this year will probably be leading older horse. Alot of the stars are pointing there · 770 days ago
Private Zone, winner of the Grade I Vosburgh Invitational and most recently second in the Grade I Cigar Mile on Nov. 30, went four furlongs for Doug O’Neill in 47 flat with regular rider Martin Pedroza up.
Pumped he's running in the Cigar too!
Private Zone ready foy Breeders' Cup Sprint..
I could see him winning the Breeders Cup Sprint, wow what a gutsy win.
Breeders' Cup Winner this year!!!
Perfect Rene ..Private Zone was invited to run in the $2 million Golden Shaheen In Dubai....he is going to win...
Trainer Doug O’Neill is hopeful that Malibu runner-up Private Zone receives an invitation to run in the $2 million Golden Shaheen in Dubai on March 30.
This horse is my pick to win the Malibu. His last two races have been very good even though he didn't win them. In the Damascus he got caught up in a speed duel and had every right to back out but he hung in their for the place in a gutsy effort. In the Vernon Underwood at HP he put up quick fractions in a track that was very slow and just got beat by Smiling Tiger. If let alone in the Malibu he will win and Pedroza will get his 3,500 victory in a G.1
This horse comes much better ..Rene esta es tuya...
Could he pull of the upset in the Gallant Bob?
