What the Horse Racing Nation is saying about Presvis...

That headline deserves an exclamation point as the gallant old-boy Presvis, winner of the 2011 Dubai Duty Free, will return for yet another Dubai World Cup Carnival, according to reports today from the Racing Post.  Read More
  • ILuvTurfRacing · Can't wait to see Presvis back in action again on Thursday in the G2 Al Rashidiya over in Dubai!! I think it's very fitting that Luca Cumani and his connections decided to bring him back to Meydan for one more Dubai Racing Carnival, his fourth, for what likely be his swansong. Presvis has been such a warrior over the years. He's traveled all over the world and raced in the biggest venues in the UK, Dubai, Hong Kong, and Singapore. He's a G1 winner in Hong Kong, having won the 2009 Audemars Piguet Q.E.II Cup, and also in Dubai having won the 2011 Dubai Duty Free. He also has other multiple stakes wins in Dubai and the UK. In the 3 Carnivals that Presvis has raced in, he's won at least one race in each of them. Going back to the 2009 Carnival at Nad Al Sheba. But his form in Dubai at the 2011 Carnival was arguably the best of his career. When he blitzed the G2 Al Rashidiya field in his first start. Came back to finish 3rd in the G2 Jebel-Hatta, in a race where he hit the wire in a 3-way photo finish with Wigmore Hall and Poet's Voice, and then finally won the Dubai Duty Free that had eluded him for so long. · 114 days ago ·

  • medlocke · Fantastic field for this year's G1 Audemars Piguet Q.E.II Cup in Hong Kong on Sunday. Presvis is obviously not going to be in the race. Because he just ran in the G1 Champions Mile at Sha Tin a few days ago. That decision based on the fact that Luca Cumani wanted Ryan Moore to ride Presvis in Hong Kong. And with the English 2000 and 1000 Guineas coming up on Saturday and Sunday, Moore was already committed to ride in the UK. I also read that Dubai World Cup winner, Victoire Pisa, is not going to be entered in the race either. But still, a fantastic field. I think the horse to beat will be the local Hong Kong star, Ambitious Dragon. Still unbeaten with back to back victories over course and distance over Lucky Nine in the G1 Hong Kong Classic Cup and over Xtension in the G1 Hong Kong Derby. Ironically, Xtension and Lucky Nine just finished 1-2 in the G1 Champions Mile a few days ago. I think the horse for Ambitious Dragon to beat will be the Mike De Kock trained race-mare, River Jetez. She was brilliant in 3 starts in Dubai. Culminating in a win in the Balanchine, and a great 2nd place finish to Presvis in the Duty Free. I also believe the Jebel Hatta winner, and Duty Free 3rd, Wigmore Hall has a shot on his Dubai form as well. I don't see Gitano Hernando being a player in this race. Primarily because I believe he's a much better horse on a synthetic surface than he is on turf. TJMO. · 384 days ago ·

John Moore trainee Xtension took the BMW Champions Mile (G1) at Sha Tin on Monday in a slowly-run race that may have dulled the late kick of Dubai Duty Free (G1) winner Presvis.  Musir was beaten just a half-length in third. Read More
  • medlocke · A much deserved G1 success for Xtension winning the G1 Champions Mile at Sha Tin on Monday. Prior to this win, Xtension's only stakes win had been in the G2 Vintage Stakes at Goodwood in 2009. But Xtension is a colt that's run huge races in the Coventry Stakes, Dewhurst Stakes, English 2000 Guineas, Irish 2000 Guineas, Prix Jean-Prat, Prix Eugene Adam, Hong Kong Classic Cup, and the Hong Kong Derby. Xtension's worst finish in all of those stakes had been 5th in the 09' Irish 2000 Guineas, and two 4th place finishes in the 2010 Prix Eugene Adam and the 2011 Hong Kong Classic Cup. In all his other starts, being the Coventry Stakes, Dewhurst Stakes, English 2000 Guineas, Prix Jean-Prat, and the Hong Kong Derby. Xtension had run 2nd or 3rd. So this is definitely a talented colt that's been overdue a big win like this in his career. Xtension now hold's an entry to return to the UK from Hong Kong in June for the G1 Queen Anne Stakes at Royal-Ascot. Where he would be facing the likes of Goldikova, Canford Cliffs, and possibly Dick Turpin. · 387 days ago ·

I read this on a European racing web-site today. Presvis has been on a mid-season break since running poorly in the G1 Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal-Ascot back in June. For anyone who doesn't follow racing on an international level. Presvis is a 6 yr.old colt from Great Britain that races all over the world, and is a G1 winner all over the world. He's the type of horse that the tougher the competition in the race. The more dangerous he becomes. Presvis is also very surface multi-dimensional. He's primarily a 10+ furlongs horse. That's always a threat to win any race on any surface. Presvis has raced in the UK, Dubai, Hong Kong, and Singapore. His trainer, Luca Cumane, said that when Presvis returns very soon from his mid-season break. They're going to sit down an weigh his options for his next race. Cumane said he would not rule out possibly sending Presvis to America for this year's Breeders Cup Classic. Since America is the one country that Presvis has not raced in. Most of his G1 win's have come on the turf. But he has also won Graded Stakes races on all-weather, and has trained on conventional dirt. That's why I say he's always a threat to win any race, on any surface. If Presvis shows up refreshed for this year's Breeders Cup Classic? That adds another very dangerous horse to the Classic roster. Presvis is also a deep closer. That comes hard and fast with giant strides when closing out a race.
