  • LAZMANNICK · Just my opinion and thoughts and in no way am I trying to demean what others are saying. The Animal Kingdom we saw in the Queen Anne never ran two inches and IMO the race is a complete throw out. The Animal Kingdom we saw chasing Wise Dan in the BC Turf Mile would have won that Queen Anne fairly easily. As for who did he beat in the World Cup? IMO we haven’t really had any strong fields in the World Cup since the switch to synthetics. We no longer see horses of the quality of Cigar, Silver Charm, Singspiel, Invasor, Pleasantly Perfect, Roses In May and Curlin. Victoire Pisa might be a really good horse, but other than racing in the Orient where has he raced and won, how can we judge how good he is because he won a World Cup other than what people say about him? I think Animal Kingdom at his best was definitely world quality, the problem is, other than the World Cup on synthetics and the Queen aAnne when he was at his absolute worst, he never got a chance to prove it at the top of his game. I feel the same about Point of Entry, but then those are just my thoughts. · 1095 days ago
  • LAZMANNICK · I should also have mentioned Dubai Millennium, a very good horse. · 1095 days ago

I had always hoped to see a match up of Wise Dan and POE, I believe he still could have come back and been successful after his injury even if he had not raced Wise Dan.
Who thinks that his return was decent. It's better than absolutly bombing and coming in last. Thought?
So the super screener gave us 5 horses to throw out that wont win or place and highly unlikely to show. Out of thoes 5 are there any you still will bet? There Trinniberg-silvermax-point of entry- olympic glory-fort Larned?
on October 27, Point of Entry worked 5F at Belmont Parl on inner turf in 1:00.66(1/1)
on October 20, Point of Entry worked 5F at Belmont Park on Firm Inner Turf in 1:02.22 b finishing 3/8.
On September 28, Point of Entry worked 4F in 49:93 (8/15) at Belmont Park.
DRF's David Grening tweeted this morning: "Point of Entry goes 1/2 in 50.55 evenly over Belmont main track, second breeze since return to training." I believe the work was ranked 28/43 on the morning (don't quote me on that).
On September 21, Point of Entry breezed 4F in 50:40 (28/40) at Belmont Park.
will not return in the Joe Hirsch Turf Classic

  • buckpasser · Jay S. glad you liked the book. I thought it was very good. @AOR. Congrats. Wish you the best in your new career. Miss your excellent post and look forward to seeing you back posting on this site again.@rafi. Thank you for the best wishes. My niece seems to be doing much better. @zxswordxz. Thank you again for your recommendation of Sour Sop. It seems that the EliLilly drug my nieces is using performs similarly to your fruit. Thanks again for your help. · 1314 days ago
Shug McGaughey reported that Point of Entry galloped for the first time this morning in Ocala. He was very pleased with how it went and the Breeders' Cup remains a possibility.

  • Mary Z. · Even if he can only run in two more races, glad to see him able to return. I thought he was top two last year, and would have been #1 turf router this year. Only turf route I can think of post-BC is the Hollywood Turf Cup, but that might be asking too much if P.O.E. wins the BC Turf Classic. · 1353 days ago
  • MarcelloMarocco · Nice to hear he is coming along. Whether he comes back to race this year or go to retirement, It was a pleasure to watch one of the more talented Turf runners in sometime on this side of the ocean. · 1353 days ago

  • On The Gallop's · Take your time boy. If we see you in the fall that is a voctory in itself. Otherwise, a deserved retirement for you. · 1387 days ago
Really sad to see him hurt I was reallly looking forward to him and wise dan fighting for HOY.
Reported on Twitter by DRF- Point of Entry came out of Manhattan with slight condylar fracture left hind cannon bone. Surgery with Bramlage, Shug says.

  • goblin · Nice questions, cocoa, but the first two are probably virtually impossible to answer. The BH article quotes Shug as saying it's too early to say if he will return to racing, but that the BC is not "out of the question". He then says that the owners intended to retire him after the 2013 season and he will have to ask them if they "want to roll the dice". As you mention, Adena Springs/Stronach own the majority of the breeding rights. Maybe Dr. Bramlage will be able to add info after the surgery. · 1414 days ago
  • Sullivan · Dr. Larry Bramlage is the best in the business, I guess they'll probably try to avenge their loss in the BC Turf but the way St. Nicholas Abbey is coming along, it might be pretty hard · 1414 days ago
