Noble's Promise has raced exclusively on synthetic and turf surfaces to this point in his career, but there are reasons to believe that the Grade 1 winner might be an even better horse on dirt. Zabeel Racing International's Conveyance remained undefeated in four starts, as he sprinted to an early lead then held off late bids from Dublin and Cardiff Giant to win the $250,000 Southwest Stakes (gr. III) Feb. 20 at Oaklawn Park. Trained by Bob Baffert, Conveyance was coming off a similar front...Read More
I think the Southwest puts this guy on the map. Six of the outside seven horses have speed, so there should be a good pace here. Pleasant Storm ran 2nd to lone speed Dryfly last time and had to go wide on both turns. Now he gets and inside trip and a good pace setup. The only thing that is tough is the short stretch, but this horse is one second-place finish away from being undefeated. My Play of the Day.

  • ajump08 · love this horse, Dryfly is really good, adn for him to close so well on the short stretch really says something. he's bred to go long, gets an A++ True Nicks rating, and will get a load of pace. if dosn't get it done here the progression in distance to the Rebel and Arkansas Derby should benefit. · 1190 days ago ·

The $250,000 Southwest Stakes (gr. III), which was rescheduled for Feb. 20 after frigid temperatures in Hot Springs forced its cancelation on President's Day, redrew a field of 10 -- the same horses from its original field.A one-mile contest for 3-year-olds and the first of two preps for the $1 mill...Read More
Disappointment and hope run in tandem on the trail. Just minutes after word broke that Azeri's baby TAKE CONTROL was injured and off the Triple Crown trail, along came Barbaro's little brother LENTENOR to pull off a "wow" performance unmatched in the maiden ranks this season. Call me crazy, but LENT...Read More
