“I just didn’t like the way he was moving last summer so I sent him home,” said Pletcher. “It wasn’t anything serious, nothing surgical, just some minor stuff. He still needs 30 days more on the farm and we might be a little too far behind schedule to make the Triple Crown.”

  • Floridaf · Given the fact that he is not in training, it is highly unlikely that he will make the Hutcheson; we'll know for sure tomorrow when entries are drawn. · 109 days ago ·

  • kedez2012 · That's a shame, but at least he won't be pressured to jump into the fray before he's ready. He could be a really nice sprinter/miler if he is allowed to. · 109 days ago ·

When I talked to Michael Matz after the 2-year-old stakes on Thanksgiving weekend, he said he would not trade. Have to imagine his reaction would be the same after watching last Saturday's CashCall Futurity. Since the Breeders' Cup, no 2-year-old has emerged to take the 2012 Kentucky Derby winter bo...Read More
FYI from his FB page: Here is just a bit of news for you-- I am back in light training with Uncle Todd at Palm Meadows! Uncle Mike and Todd have been eying the races at Gulfstream and are looking at the Hutcheson (gr. II, Feb. 11) or the Swale (gr. III, March 10) for my first race of the year!!! :-)
With Uncle Mo retired, Stay Thirsty is now the top gun in Mike Repole’s stable. And after a championship-caliber 3-year-old season in 2011, there are high expectations for the son of Bernardini next year.Repole, definitely in the swing-for-the-fences category, has tentatively mapped out an ambitious...Read More

  • RichieBernard Jr. · They are both over rated!! It's easy to be good when you have the funding behind you and you are spending someone elses money buying horses! Let's see how good they would be if they had fifteen $5000-$10000 dollar claimers with the usual day to day problems in their barn without the high dollar horses! I'm thinking they would not be much better than the rest of the bunch! If they can consistently take the average $5000-$10000 claimer that is winning one race per year (if that) and then move them up and improve the win percentage on a consistent basis then I may have a different opinion as that would be raw talent doing that without the support or backing of the rich people! · 247 days ago ·
