Older Comments about Omega Star...

looks like a nice longshot play in today's SA Race 3...hoping for at least 10-1 odds
I like this gelding. Wed Race 9 at Del Mar. My pick.

  • SSilence86 · tm I was on last night frustrated with HRN pages for not refreshing. Seems that its having some difficulty again today. · 1238 days ago
  • SSilence86 · Mary not sure. I'll look into him. As far as OS, yeah I think he'll relish the distance. · 1238 days ago
I am going with him today as it has been a stellar day for me...I think he'll like the extra distance.... 8-1 not bad.
happy to see him win the Echo Eddie stakes today:)
If he lives up to his potential, watch out
As Trevor Denman says, "Omeeega Star" worked 6 furlongs yesterday in 1:13.80 (2/13), in preparation for the upcoming San Felipe stakes.
Omega Star breezed 6 furlongs at Hollywood Park on Monday in 1:14 flat (4/14) in preparation for the San Felipe Stakes.
looking forward to seeing him run saturday R7 at SA:)
Has to be one of the best strides I've seen on a 3YO to date. This gelding could be for real if Shirreffs even points him towards the Derby
John Shirreffs' other buzz horse breezed 5 furlongs this morning on Hollywood's all-weather track in 1:00.20 (7/44).
John Shirrefs' classics breezed 4 furlongs "handily" this morning at BHP in :50 flat (27/30).
Just finished updating this one's profile--Steve Haskin's first list of Derby contenders came out today and he was the only one I hadn't heard of. His debut at Santa Anita (on December 31, which highly conveniently allows him to avoid the so-called "Apollo curse") was quite impressive, and he's by Candy Ride out of a Fusaichi Pegasus mare, inbred to Lyphard and from the same Alzao line on his damside, much like Japanese Triple Crown winner Deep Impact. I've been a sucker for a good Shirreffs horse for several years, (and I ain't gonna mention no names ;) so this one will definitely be on my watch list as we go down the Triple Crown trail!
Nice win by this young gelding. One to watch to improve off this win
