Was purchased privately by Bonnie Baski, owner of Blue Heaven farm to become a broodmare. According to Baskin's son she is booked to Uncle Mo. I read that and actually groaned aloud. This statement is taken direcly from the Bloodhorse article. "Corndorf credited Alan Porter of Pedigree Consultants in the decision making. 'Both Now I Know and Uncle Mo were precocious as each was a graded stakes winner at 2,' Corndorf said." Just what we need more precocious 2 year olds that can't run the classic distance!

  • Floridaf · His potential was definitely not achieved. Saying that lack of patience was present is absurd. Mo fell ill twice in the same year, and his connections chose to retire him rather than risk his health. If he had been healthy his entire career, we would have seen his true potential. Now, considering the questions surrounding Uncle Mo's ability to get distance (which was not TRULY proven one way or the other), I am not sure that I would have chosen him to breed Now I Know to unless the desired end result was a sprinter/miler. As with Uncle Mo, we will not ever have the chance to know just how far Now I Know could carry her speed. I believe I would have chosen Bernardini, Giant's Causeway, or Awesome Again personally in order to incorporate some proven distance. Just my opinion. · 443 days ago ·

Same thing happened to her great grandmother, Terlingua.. So sad to end her race career but so glad she is okay. Wish she was being bred with Curlin. Others pale in compairson
Is doing well post-surgery. Rather than breed her, Hemel may decide to sell her. No decision has been made yet, though.

According to drf.com: Now I Know retired after fracturing knee
Graded stakes winning filly Now I Know emerged from the first-ever loss of her career Saturday with a knee fracture and has been retired according to her co-owner/breeder and trainer Don Von Hemel. The 3-year-old daughter of Pure Prize won the Dixie Belle in January to run her career record to ...Read More
