Happy Retirement to Noosa Beach.
http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/78908/noosa-beach-jockey-frazier-to-retire-jointly Sad to see this horse retire. He was a thrill to watch at Emerald Downs and I enjoyed going to his races.
just saw this horse go nuts when they were trying to get him into the gate for the Budweiser Handicap at Emerald Downs...

  • travel_vic · Noosa Beach destroyed one of the best fields of sprinters gathered together in over 20 years in the Pacific Northwest. This one is for real. · 746 days ago
  • cocoa2 · It is astounding to me to see how poor some's reading and literacy skills are. The no-shift-key king is vain and obtrusive. · 745 days ago
I think this horse is really nice but he really needs to race on a diffrent track

  • Armada · I've had the pleasure of watching him race on several occasions because I do not live far from ED. He is a real powerhouse and classy. :) · 764 days ago
I would like to see this horse run at a different track other than Emerald Downs.
  • travel_vic · Then talk to the owners as they are a nice bunch of Japanese Americans I had the pleasure of meeting · 975 days ago
  • travel_vic · opps that was Winning Machine one of his adversaries. Did see this one destroy some of the best sprinters on the grounds last April · 975 days ago
Quite a runner
The reason why no one looks at him is because he hasn't raced in a race above a G3 I'm not saying he is bad, I'm just saying we haven't seen his best yet...I hope.
I can't wait to see what he'll do away from Emerald...Jersey Town has validated the form a bit.
I am happy to see that a debate has sparked over the Noosa Beach's value in comparison to the nation's top horses. I understand the skepticism from folks who want to see the Harbor the Gold gelding face stiffer competition. Unofficially, Doris and Jeff Harwood have indicated that they will provisionally nominate Noosa Beach in the BC Dirt Mile. Sdnaples: To answer your question of whether Noosa Beach is up for Horse of the Year. Why not? Maybe he's the Butler Bulldogs of college basketball. And when he gets to center stage, he will shine. Only time will tell. The one opinion I will give is that I do believe that he is better than last year's BC Dirt Mile winner Dakota Phone. For those who love him, for those who are intrigued by him, and for those who are skeptical of him. Follow him for the rest of 2011 and guarantee will all be fans, because he is one really nice horse.
How does a horse that beatsup on a bunch of donkeys at Emarald Downs end up int the top 20? This horse might be good, but doesnt belong in the top 100...

  • mdracing69 · Connections of Noosa Beach reportedly thinking about BC Dirt Mile. They have to put up an early $25k nom fee and might still have to qualify in a race like the Kelso. · 1126 days ago
  • sdnaples · Media, you ranked this horse a 10...is he up for horse of the year. · 1126 days ago
Has won six stakes races in a row, including 2010 Longacres Mile (G3) at Emerald Downs, where he beat Jersey Town, who went on to beat Haynesfield in Cigar Mile(G1).
