What the Horse Racing Nation is saying about Neko Bay...

Grade II winner Neko Bay has been retired from racing and will enter stud in 2011 at John Greely IV’s Wintergreen Stallion Station near Midway, Ky.  The 7-year-old son of Giant's Causeway is currently being syndicated. His stud fee will be announced later. A winner on dirt and synthetic surface...Read More
Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert got a rare grade I victory as a breeder when Misremembered held off Neko Bay by a long neck to capture the $750,000 Santa Anita Handicap (gr. I) March 6. Jockey Martin Garcia, riding in his first Big 'Cap, scored the biggest win of his career aboard the strapping son...Read More
  • bband · Misremembered is a very solid older horse. Ran a terrific race in the Clark from a bad post, signaling what he could do in the future. With the handicap ranks lacking stars beyond Quality Road, he could win some bigger races this year. · 1167 days ago ·

When a 5-year-old mare named St Trinians heads postward in Saturday's running of the $750,000 Santa Anita Handicap (G1), she'll attempt to become the first female winner in the race's 73-year history. But beating the boys is old hat for this plucky English runner, and trainer Mike Mitchell expects h...Read More

The gamble of starting Loup Breton in Saturday's $750,000 Santa Anita Handicap is one worth taking, trainer Julio Canani insists. With proven form on turf, and the absence of a standout in the historic race this year, Loup Breton will be asked to try something new when he starts in the Grade 1 Big C...Read More
With her 2010 debut two weeks away, Zenyatta continues to impress jockey Mike Smith in her buildup to a highly anticipated spring campaign. Friday at Hollywood Park, Zenyatta breezed six furlongs in 1:13.20 as she nears a scheduled start in the Grade 1 Santa Margarita Invitational Handicap at Santa ...Read More
  • Medlocke · Enough with the breezing times, and 6 furlong drills. Let's get to some racing already. I just had a gentleman on YouTube e-mail me and tell me that not only will Rachel Alexandra beat Zenyatta, that she will likely be in hand across the wire in doing so. His comment was that other than the B.C. Classic, Zenyatta had never faced any real competition. If competition is the question here, other than Summer Bird, who has Rachel Alexandra beaten that is so much tougher than the horses that Zenyatta has beaten? Someone please tell me, because I truly don't know who they are. Every time I read a post concerning Zenyatta and Rachel Alexandra, inevitably, without failure, there's always someone that comments on how weak Zenyatta's competition has been. But there's never any follow up on all the alleged "great horses" names that Rachel Alexandra has beaten. I think it would be fair to say that Rachel Alexandra has raced colts more times successfully, but Zenyatta has beaten better colt's singularly. And in regard to other fillies, they've both raced fillies who were extremely over matched. As for the comment of Rachel Alexandra being in hand across the wire, doubtful. There's no doubt that Rachel Alexandra can, and may beat Zenyatta. But I don't see her drawing away from the best deep closer in racing by enough lengths to be "in hand" across the wire. • Rossington · Zenyatta breezed 6 furlongs at Hollywood Park in 1:13.20. Rachel Alexandra just breezed 6 furlongs over a fast main track at Louisiana Downs in 1:14.00 flat. For anyone trying to handicap the upcoming Apple Blossom, make of those work's what you will. · 1174 days ago ·

Many breeders anticipate that Giant's Causeway will become a powerful sire of sires. Paired with the sire-producing Missy Baba family genes, recent graded winner Neko Bay is likely to attract interest as a sire prospect.Read More

  • Medlocke · Who in the world would have thought that a horse like Furthest Land, that was able to beat the 2008 B.C. Dirt Mile winner in Midshipman, and the Irish 2000 Guineas and St. James Palace Stakes winner Mastercraftsman, would finish dead last to Neko Bay, Spurrier, Nownownow, Bold Chieftan, Goldsville, and Cherokee Artist on the very same track just two month's after beating those Grade 1 winner's in the 2009 B.C. Dirt Mile? Racing is a funny game sometimes. · 1222 days ago ·
